It's true. I let my Prime go about 18 months ago after they fought me tooth and nail over refunding a fraudulent purchase that they admitted was fraudulent. It was the last straw.

Almost bought something there a couple months ago. The cart/checkout kept offering "Prime shipping" without really making it clear that it was signing you back up for Prime. You have to be really careful to pay attention to what you were selecting.

For future reference if you ever shop there again and need customer service, wait until later at night and do the chat option. You're more likely to get one of the Indian guys, and they tend to honestly not give a fuck about policy and just give you what you ask for no questions asked as long as you give them that good rating.

At that point you should just dispute the charge. It's why I would never use an Amazon credit card on Amazon. If I use a Bank of America card and Amazon gyps me the people investigating the dispute don't have a financial interest in fucking me over.

Yeah, it's always their default shipping option and they try to trick people by saying it's free 2 day shipping while being less than forward about the catch.

while knowingly making it difficult for them to cancel their subscriptions

Oh yea, canceling prime is always a trip. There are like 5 steps and they move the correct option to cancel around, ask you multiple times, use all kinds of UI tricks and make it as ambiguous and confusing as possible.

Sure, it's perfectly doable if you're not a complete retard but it's shady as fuck.

“Deceptive practices”, also known as forcing customers to read.

/people in this thread all caught on to Amazons bullshit because they could in fact read.

If you're in western Canada, London Drugs is fucking -fantastic- for buying online. I'm in a city center, and they've been delivering next day by about 2pm. I cannot recommend those marvelous bastards enough.

For those not familiar, it ain't just a drug store. They sell household goods, electronics, food, I even bought garden tools from them in my last order.

If you use Amazon app it should prevent you from accidentally sign up for prime, apparently Google play store now requires the apps with paid subscription to go through the Google pay system
