That only stops white people, the 'poor migrants' will jump that and take the food, if you're lucky they pay for it because they still want food to be supplied there, they just don't want to deal with that bullshit.
This will be a good test to see how many sheep there are as in London I can see this being at least enough to stay in business, outside of London, even some other cucked city I really doubt it.
I did once see a family of urban achievers push through aldi checkout with a full cart, throw it in their trunk and drive out of the parking lot backwards. I'm not sure why someone would choose a low end grocery store to steal from if they are that bold.
That was fascinating. There was a grocery store with a similar set up in the 1930's. It looked automatic until you saw the people running around behind the walls.
On the other hand, I wrote a paper asking if we could have something like that again, and had to stop it because every industry is working towards that idea. It went from dish cleaning to pizza delivery. I could see a mall food court turn into an automated system.
When I mentioned it to an operations guy at a big theme park he laughed and said it didn't compensate for insane guests. That's the big problem. When you have 50,000 people, 500 of them will be assholes of some kind.
Yes but sadly the actual carrying out part is very incompetent. Like i have one of those systems near my house but it's for some reason not listed on their website as a particpating store. And supposedly if you have the app you can just use the app to check out one of the scanners but it also doesnt work for that nearby store.
And the thing has been there since pre covid so its not like its newly implemented
Germany. And it's actually two chains, Aldi South and Aldi North and except for Germany any given country only has one of the two chains.
It isn't exactly low-rung. Their store brands and produce tend to be pretty good. As an example they have a store brand Irish butter that is manufactured by Kerrygold. It just has some interesting cost saving strategy. You have to do your own bagging and UPC codes are gigantic and usually wrap at least half the package to speed up scanning.

It'll be ok -- the people who steal to feed themselves rarely steal groceries.

There's no such thing as an unstaffed supermarket.
I'm not sure why no one has made a store sized vending machine. The technology is there (and has been for a while).

Edit: the grocery store was Keedoozle.

That is interesting. I guess the sushi belt restaurants in Japan are sort of spiritual successors.
God help us
We have such systems in singapore but its not a full supermarket and you can still go in the normal way
Do you have a link?

This is what we use here.
That's a totally useable system. It's amazing how much tech is just waiting for people to accept it

This can’t be classified as discrimination? We can’t say all those poor, underprivileged immigrants are being kept out of grocery shopping?
Is Aldi a US or UK-headquartered grocer?
We don't have them in Canada.
I've only seen Aldi referred to in the US as the lowest-rung bargain grocery option.

It's only found in the upper middle class neighborhoods where I live.
One occasion where the “This is fine” meme truly applies…
“It was only for Covid!”, they claimed…
laughs
What sort of asshole would actually shop there?
