The Guardian: Are you a doctor who hates treating gay people? Come to Florida, where Ron DeSantis has legalised bigotry (archive.is)

I wish I was exaggerating but I’m not. Last week, Florida’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, signed the Protections of Medical Conscience (pdf) bill, which lets medical professionals and health insurance companies deny patients care based on religious, moral or ethical beliefs. While the new law doesn’t allow care to be withheld because of race, colour sex, or national origin, there are no protections for sexual orientation or gender identity.

Angsty middle aged woman who hasn’t grown mentally since middle school is Butt hurt doctors won’t be forced to put up with hedonism and degeneracy

deny patients care based on religious, moral or ethical beliefs.

The goal of abolishing the white race is on its face so desirable that some may find it hard to believe that it could incur any opposition other than from committed white supremacists. --Noel Ignatiev

What ethnicity is vastly over represented in the Medical Industrial Complex?

Just one more step, making sure "White" is no longer a race, and their goal will be complete.

Thanks DeShabbos.

You could have read a few lines further down.

So could you.

Oh, you meant that they'd stop defining "white" as a race, but keep the rest. That definitely wouldn't cause massive cognitive dissonance leading to the entire concept of a "race" completely falling apart. No sir, not at all.

You're insane.

They already say that race is a social construct at the same time they promote race based hiring and college admissions. Cognitive dissonance is a way of life for them.

Those two things aren't actually at odds, even though they're both incorrect. Just because something is a social construct instead of biological doesn't mean it can't be used as a basis for something else.

What would actually be contradictory would be to say that "these people are black, Asian, or Hispanic, but this vast group of people don't have a race" that cannot possibly square in their worldview. They won't, can't, get rid of the "white" race as a concept. They just say that white isn't a protected class.

You've gone too deep.

Find that on a census form.

Is there some functional difference between Aryan and white? The last map I saw Aryan covered quite a bit of ground.

They define what the law says, which is the conversation at hand.

The guardian is endorsing Flordia and Ron desantis? Wow, never thought I'd see them advertising such positive sentiments.

They're trying to make Ron sound way cooler than he actually is.

Imagine the state-wide sigh of relief doctors must feel knowing they can turn down every faggot that comes to them with a varied assortment of garage sale items wedged up their ass.

Bitch has never heard of libertarianism before. Or even freedom of association.

Or even freedom of association.

That is definitely the forgotten right. People forget it even exists. If you ask people today do you have the right to hang out with only white people if you want, they'd probably say no.

I don't think they know it exists. I don't think they'd agree with it if they knew.
