I would argue being anti-war was a bigger part of his platform than being against free trade.

The MSM putting the Trump hate on hold to suck his dick after he bombed Syria was one of the most surreal experiences I've had in politics. A lot of "anti-war" stuff in politics isn't really anti-war. There is just disagreement over which war to have. For Trump, I'd be concerned about war in Iran.

I don't think he did. They were simply either not a good idea (leaving the WTO - although he should have used US influence to block the advancing woke agenda pushed by EU countries) or impossible to do unilaterally (build the wall).

I am no fan of Noem but she is the best pick out of these three shitty choices.
I don't know how reliable this reporting is. I'm usually the one shitting on Trump but he has a problem with women voters and so a woman VP makes sense as a matter of electoral politics. That said, MTG is a pure no-go. People absolutely hate her. Noem is the most serious choice and it's not like she would have a serious policy role. It would be interesting to see if Lake and Trump ended up feuding because they are both aggressive attention whores (though I actually like Kari Lake) and Trump can't help but shit on the people he works with.
First in the line of succession? You shouldn't vote for anyone as VP you wouldn't feel comfortable with voting for to be president even if they're not you're first choice. Noem wouldn't be anywhere on my list.
That's cute from a textbook perspective but if it's going to be Biden/Kamala or Trump/Noem, the possibility that Noem ends up president is pretty far down my list of considerations.

VP is the FIRST in line for succession if the President is incapacitated or deceased.

Lake or MTG on the ticket would be a complete nightmare. They would lose North Carolina certainly and likely lose Texas.

Cruz vs Allred will be pretty competitive if Trump is the nominee but I think Cruz will still win as long as Trump doesn't pick Lake or MTG as his V.P.
If DeSantis is the nominee Cruz likely beats Allred by a likely margin of 4-5 points.
With Trump on the top of the ticket, Cruz would likely be capped at winning by 1-2 points.
A Trump/Lake or a Trump/MTG ticket would doom Cruz.
I pray Trump is not the nominee but if he is I hope he picks any other pick than Lake or MTG.
