Humankind has a lot to answer for lately.
The award ceremony will be synchronised dabbing
Followed by millions of people around the world dying from sheer cringe.
Blizzard on suicide watch once again as they continue to fail to create an esport while Fortnite accidentally became the biggest of our generation and now probably history.
What happened to 0verwatch?
It never actually took off. They were pumping constant money into it, which gave it the appearance that it was successful but once the middling interest died off they couldn't hide how poorly it was doing from investors any longer.
Double so because Overwatch 2 was dead on arrival and basically buried what was left of the original.
Rule 34 Overwatch is more popular than Overwatch
And unfortunately for them, nobody ever cared about the new chicks they added after the original set. So once that well was tapped, even the porn died.
You had to be a semi-high level player of Overwatch to be able to enjoy watching it played. The game relies too much on ultimates and abilities and has so may characters that it becomes difficult to follow the action if you're not an avid player.
CS:GO is straight forward, shoot the bad guys, plant the bomb.
Even then, its just not an interesting game to watch. The rapid class shift means teams were never as skill based as something like CSGO, and the lack of locked classes meant it lacked the hard counter angle of a MOBA.
Yeah it's too complicated to follow with constant hero changes
Since it will be a target-shooting type event surely they are going to make everyone use the same setup, settings, software, hardware, etc to make it purely skill-based right?....right?
Except in those stadiums they still get to bring in their own peripherals that are tournament approved, but they're all different. Olympic shooting is done with the exact same model of gun that is fitted to the shooter.
It's not like some shooters get to use a different twist rate barrell or different sight.
Turns out being 40% owned by the CCP gets you some profitable connections.
I wonder if they'll do Olympic skins.
Of course they will - why would they leave that easy money on the table?
