For those curious, here's the bill.

And the text itself. Very short, less than a page.

I only looked through it once, but it does seem to be as described. Some sensible things, like I don't think people need to know the individual officers' names who are guarding someone (which it made it sound like it is a thing), but then there's your standard "means and methods" and "outweigh any public benefit that may be derived from the disclosure of these records." This bill would certainly make a lot of previously available information no longer available.

From the linked Twitter thread:

And this seems like an especially bright red flag:

The amendment would expand the public-records exemption to cover records containing "personal information unrelated to the official duties of the protected person."

Not sure where that came from, though. It's in quotes, but I'm not sure who is being quoted. It's certainly not in the bill itself.

This is being falsely sold as "travel records" when the law clearly states it is only the records of law enforcement security for senior members of the Florida government.

Imagine thinking the secret service is going to respond to FOIA requests.

I fail to see any issue here. This is common sense.

Trump is going to prison because he couldn't control his dick. He is not going to run as a republican candidate.

Doc, this is one of the worst cases I've seen.

Nobody's going to say "Trump's gone, let's vote for women's plant now."

Technically correct, but not for the reason you believe.

Trump going to prison would start a Civil War.

Not even sure this is true anymore. I've said for a while, if Civil War 2 kicks off, it will likely be over something pretty minor and seemingly dumb, and not the big stuff.

Merrick Garland could shoot Trump in the head on live TV, and conservatives would just bitch about how biased the system is. Heck, Trump's been blacklisted so hard "hey, that probably shouldn't have happened" would be a fringe extremist talking point, and the more mainstream conservative channels like Fox would mostly ignore it.

Civil War 2 is more likely to start when Cletus gets his ass shot resisting a gun confiscation, or for threatening door-to-door pharma shills and then getting shot for his trouble. Something dumb but freedomy like that. And it still has to line up just right, considering we've already got people rotting in jail for "insurrecting" or even making memes.

As fucked as society is, it still takes a lot to kick things off, and I don't think even Trump's imprisonment would do it. It could, but it's not a sure thing.

When the economy takes a tumble there's a large group of people with 'nothing to lose' and that is what creates the violence.

That bank shooting is a good example. The guy was a leftist loon but only snapped when he got fired. If Trump was taken out there would be a LOT of people across the country who would probably react similarly, since they would see it as 'nothing to lose.'

That is basically what the three letter fags are hoping for to happen which is why they keep setting up false flags. The problem is they don't seem to realize just how large of the population would pressure back, because economic turmoil affects 99% of the population.

Fair point, I hadn't taken the economic issues into account. Trump is a symbol for better times, and taking him out could indeed make many people hopeless, even if they weren't directly diehard "Cult 45" or whatever.

It's still far from guaranteed but, yeah, messing with Trump really could kick things off, I suppose.

Historically it is in times of depression when upheaval occurs. That's pretty much the only reason politicians avoid depressions, if they had their way people would be living at poverty level while they were the only wealthy class.

Politicians are only in politics to enrich themselves, and that is much easier when you are dirt poor.

A hot civil war would only start when some group of elites have claimed stake in some alternate power structures and positioned them in opposition to the federal government's power, and either side does something to endanger that power. What random peasants believe or do is irrelevant.

This is why the federal-state delineation of power in the US is so important. It gives us the opportunity to have real fractional power at the local level where we can actually influence things. If we can't unite and get our state governments to support us against the feds, then there's nothing we can do. (No, stategovs aren't the only source of parallel power. For example wealthy families and businesses can wield a ton of influence, but most of them are currently captured by the left.)

Now if you're talking about random violence happening around the country in response, yeah I can believe that.
