That’s the legal system in a nutshell anymore. It’s not about whether or not you actually committed a crime, it’s about whether or not they want to target you. In most cases the process is the punishment and the DA does not have to pay restitution if you are found innocent.
But if EVERYONE does use 2A to protect their lives and property, 2 things happen:

Courts so full with these cases that they go on their knees, New York itself buckles because all the businesses they rely on for food are shut as the owners/employees all in court.
The one and only one way I could see the charge as legitimate is if he stole the gun, hunted the criminal down, and shot him after he surrendered.
That's basically it. The fact that the victim was shot in the entangled gunfight means that it is 100% legitimate for him to have understood that it was a life-or-death situation.

They keep having convenient purges of thought criminals and expanding the registration deadline before the actual vote/making it more difficult to vote. It's funny, these cunts yell at voter IDs, but in New York, you must register 6 months before the election to vote, and that's the last I heard before new bills went into effect.

Don't quit your non-lawyer job. They weren't dismissed with prejudice and he wasn't acquitted/found not guilty.
