If you add the qualification "with consenting adults" the explanation gets even more accurate.

I have this funny theory that 2012 the world went under but we just never noticed and it's our conscious trying to wake us up. 2012 seems to have been the point where everything went butt fuck insane.

But oddly enough, the latest data I've seen suggests that over 50% of single people are meeting online but only 9% of people are using online dating in the last year. Are most people meeting via social media or are they counting friends and others chatting via chat apps as "meeting online"?
But one thing to note, what explains the decline in sexless under 35 year old men from 2018 onwards while women's rates are now above that of their male peers? It isn't because of a certain event in 2020.

The big upward trend starts at 2008, the start of the 'Great Recession', as well as the introduction of 'open identity' social media like Twitter and Facebook. Tinder (online dating) was also introduced at 2012.
You see a dip at 2018, which might be when the trannies started turning to each other for sex. (Just a joke, they're statistically irrelevant, and will always be. ;) )

I believe that's what he's claiming they're lying about. As you mention women lie down and men lie up. Which means the situation for men is even worse than the statistics say since it's all self reported.

I am a little skeptical in the sense that I think a lot of them are adopting the label "nonbinary" and in reality they're just straight IRL.
I always use the analogy of the one girl we all knew in college who was "bisexual" for oppresion points yet only dated guys. Same thing here.
Yup, that's the real reason we're seeing this explosion of people claiming to be alphabet freaks. When Zoe Quinn started using third person pronouns I pointed out that 20 years ago she would have been claiming to be bisexual without ever dating other women. It's all about attention and social status.
