I always wonder if any of the people who paid for the 8 dollar checkmark are just salty because they paid thousands back when it was 'exclusive'.
That's true
PM = Per Month? Not sure I've ever seen that abbreviation.
I'll admit, it's the first time I've seen it as well.
I think so. I would have annotated it as "$XX/mo".
Fun fact: Amazon actually has a free streaming service called "Freevee".
Yea I know, it's still Amazon but you don't need prime. Supposedly they have ads but I guess around here pretty much nobody buys their ads because I get maybe one every 5-10 episodes.
They have some great older series like Babylon 5, Grimm and Justified.
This. I used it to watch Columbo until I got the boxsets for Christmas last year.
Columbo is great. Peak racially aware Americana. And a good barometer for America's decline.
They have a show I haven't seen since 2001. I was going to watch it tonight.
Feels good to have never, ever paid for digital music or movies in my whole life.
And to have the files on my own drive.
They will never, ever break me.
Yo ho
All these things cost that much because so many people pay it. I can think of people I know with cable or some sort of expensive cable-like thing and at least this many subscriptions.
I hate subscriptions myself and constantly review any that I do have to make sure I’m using it enough for what I’m paying. I almost never end up getting enough value from them. If only everyone would quit paying for shit they don’t use, especially tons of these that will whine and moan about their brokeness while sending these shitty companies money every month because one show they think they have to like for social sake is on two months a year.

Well, I mean.... There you go.
I'm not sure who this meme is for. Is it projecting from people who paid for the checkmark, pretending people who refuse to do it are too poor to afford that eight extra dollars a month? Is it projecting from people who don't have the checkmark, pretending people who do pay for it can barely afford it? Also, who would pay for Spotify, Apple, and YouTube? One is enough to cover your music needs.
Have you met upper middle class idiots?
A few, but even they aren't dumb enough to pay for three separate music subscriptions.
I think YouTube music is a stretch, but I know plenty who do Spotify and another.
The middle class idiots I know are poor without knowing how to be poor.
You sometimes run into legit poor people at goodwill where I buy DVDs for $3. They will be the people you overhear saying things like "we only have $5 for gas, so make sure you don't forget anything before we head over to walmart; because we can't afford to go anywhere else today."
The middle class idiot sort will do middle class shit like eat out all the time but be constantly broke. They'd save money and probably live better by living like a legit poor person, but they either don't know how or are unwilling to.

Use Emby or Jellyfin.
My wallet screamed reading this.
Other than to support them what do you get for paying? Also I go 30TB and can barely fill even half because everything is so bad nowadays.
Ah my stuff isnt in 4k because I don't have the screens to make use of it, and I only stream to desktops and let friends stream to their smart tvs
In all seriousness, paying for twitter is dumb as hell unless that blue checkmark is used to identify your business (and no, influencers, you don't count).
I spent $300 probably on doordash fastfood this month because the hours I work means thawing let alone cooking is so fucking much effort. Can't be arsed to give a shit about frozen/quick to make meals because they all taste like shit since the economy went tits up in 2020. That said, I see $5 a month more for my streaming bill and I cut that or I change service. Priorities.
I found a website that does Nerf and editing for a $1 a render. I'm figuring out a budget now.
Also, check out snack foods that can be combined for meals. Fish sticks, some ham, and mayo in a tortilla makes a delicious burrito.
Real bacon bits, mustard, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce on a tortilla is a go to.
In Australia Prime is about US$4 a month. You don't need Apple Music if you have Spotify or vice versea. Why the fuck would you pay for Youtube premium? And buy yourself a fucking coffee machine FFS - only an absolute wanker would spend $100 a month at Starcucks. I don't know what the $12 pm one is - OnlyFans? If it is then fuck right off. And Disney+, what are you five years old? Having said all that I pay about US$8 a month for Xbox/PC Game Pass.
Only an absolute wanker would complain about Twitter Blue being $8 a month, so the meme checks out.
Your name is UnknownSailor and you talk of piracy? Are you in the navy? Download everything and then watch it while away?
I am not complaining. That was a great way to get good shows. I lived in Bremerton, and when friends got back or were about to go out, they would demand I watch shows so we could talk about them. Then they'd provide them. It was great, and the reason why I got into Gundam.
And sailors beforehand only had to worry about VDs when sticking their dongle into an unknown port...
