Oh no. Anyway
It's been dead in the water SINCE last jedi, their egos and pandering to the leftist fractions within Disney stopped them saying it openly.
Them now openly admitting it probably signals more of a 'shits fucked, money's running low so haven't got time to pander' which given the job losses elsewhere, there's gonna be a lot of unemployed blue hairs this year..
We all knew they were never going ahead with that. It was just Disney trying to save their investment in The Last Jedi by saying, "We have so much confidence in this that we're giving the director his own trilogy!" It has always been bullshit.
They should pull a Star Trek or something and just pretend the whole shitty trilogy and additional movies was just an alternate timeline. Remake them.
Rian Johnson is the Vince Russo of movies.
Nice to see a fellow wrestling fan. You still watch?
Just AEW, though I hear Impact has gotten really good lately. You can watch Impact on their Youtube channel for one dollar a month.
Pro wrestling is the last bastion of non-woke testosterone-filled entertainment. This is the perfect time for a renaissance.
Yea. I record AEW and watch when I can. Life long WWF/E fan as well. Love watching old school NWA/WCW. AEW does have that dude Nyla Rose but other than that it reminds me of old school NWA. I doubt we see Attitude Era again though
Thankfully, Nyla has NOT gotten over, even recently losing decisively to the five-foot sub-100-pound Japanese wrestler Riho--granted, those two had their best matches against each other. Seriously, surprising chemistry.
Riho's fucking awesome.
She is. Japan is a haven for pro wrestling. I’m so glad to see Great Muta go into hall of fame. Also it’s weird how Hogan did technical wrestling in Japan
"Every move you love was invented by a joshi 20 years prior."
All because Mildred Burke saw Moolah take over the American women's wrestling scene, took her skills to Japan, and taught them how to actually wrestle.
Obligatory "fuck Moolah."
Yea I’ve come to that conclusion. Female wrestling there is amazing. So Japan was doing the high flying stuff even before Mexico?
He's the Young Bucks of movies.
You take that back.
What? They subvert your expectations by making a mockery of the business, and don't forget the woke Tweet banning an AEW fan for life for "homophobic" slurs... which was a lot like blaming toxic fans for sucking.
Classic RJ.
They'd have to be worse than insane to give him a further chance at this point.
I thought that was the case. Or I guess it’s official now. Abrams shares the blame by having Luke in isolation on that island and turning himself off from the force. An easy layup would’ve been Han/Luke/Leia and maybe Lando together in an early scene as well as Luke training Jedi at his academy in an early scene. Then the new heroes emerge and the torch is passed over three movies. I remember a Disney shill at the time TLJ came out saying that George Lucas’s plan was to have Luke in exile. What they didn’t say was that Lucas had him in exile due to meditating on the force and he was going to come back.
The EU Jedi Academy stories were good. Why Disney decided to not even have a Jedi academy in their canon or even young Jedi is beyond me. Also why in the world do you want a director that is obsessed with subversion.
And the old Jedi Academy setting was absolutely perfect in my mind. An abandoned temple (that was previously used as a Rebel operation site) on Yavin IV? A completely isolated forest region? A place of learning, rather than a place of grooming?
While its cheesy and weak, its incredibly easy to turn Luke into a fine character arc from what Abrams had setup with TFA. He had very little set in stone by that point, and you could branch into any basic "mentor" plotline from there.
Now, Rise he fucked up in everyway but trying to pick up after TLJ wouldn't be easy for anyone.
That’s true. He chose to make him a quitter. Although looking back they were obsessed with elevating women so of course Rey lectures Luke. Sequels would be seen in a much better light if they had just not had him be a loser.
