China is just an ally of Russia in this war, but is playing a game because it cannot openly ally with Russia lest it get sanctioned. It cannot openly give Russia weapons and supplies, either, so it lies and tries to hide it:
The reason China is calling for a ceasefire now is because Russia wants them, and Russia is laundering its request through China to save face.
And the reason Russia wants them is because it is nearing exhaustion for its "offensive" of these past 2 months, which has achieved little in terms of gains, but has resulted in enormous losses of Russian men and material, most famously around Vuhledar, but also around Bakhmut. Russia's front line units are depleted and weak, and there are wide media reports of a coming Ukrainian counter-offensive. So now would be the perfect time for a "cease fire" to allow the Russian units to resupply and absorb more mobiks.
Which is why it won't happen, of course, but Russian propagandists will make something of a show of being agreeable to one as a propaganda tactic.
Aren't there always? There are also media reports claiming women are oppressed and I'd put more faith in those.
No, there aren't "always", the main reason they are discussed is because Ukraine has been forced to decide between holding back forces to save for its offensive, or else send them in to help defend Bakhmut. They haven't been sent in. Defenses are handled by non-mechanized units, and the mech units are the ones being prepared for offensive action.
Wait are you under the impression Ukraine is willingly losing the war...because they are holding back a secret force?
Why would they do that?
He disagrees with you on the premise that Ukraine is losing the war for starters but I do get your overall point.
It's common for countries to hold back forces to build up a mass of men, equipment, and supplies to fuel an offensive. It's happened in pretty much every war. Nations do not put 100% of their military on the front lines.
And Ukraine is not losing the war regardless.
Oh no, it’s retarded lol
