It probably will fail because they wont acknowledge the real reasons for the bad birth rates. Their birth rate plummeted twice. Once after the gender equality laws that was forced on them straight after ww2, the second time when they started using stevia in the 1970's when artificial sweeteners got banned. Stevia was traditionally used by South Americans as a contraceptive

Wait, the stevia sugar substitute used in some colas and protein bars? How much does one have to consume to get to infertility?

Stevia has only been shown to reduce fertility in rats at doses that would make most humans throw up. People who drink 12 diet sodas a day would probably be affected, but we don't want those people procreating anyway.

The reason for Japan's low fertility is its anti-male culture. Men are supposed to work 80 hours a week until they retire, at which point they're useless and should have the decency to die. Nothing is expected of women, so they spend their days sleeping around and complaining about the largely mythical train groping issue. Japanese men don't want to raise families with entitled whores, so instead they just nope out of society.

I watched a documentary that talked about Japan's own generation y/ early millennials as a lost generation. Basically, Japan has a college to work force pipeline system, but the economy crashed and a massive chunk of an entire generation couldn't find work directly after college. As it took years to correct the system this generation never got anywhere and got phased out of the system as the next crop of graduates came out and took the next group of jobs. That helped to kill birth rates for those 30 something year olds as well as they got left behind.

It's not really a gender issue. It's a labor expectation issue, and it affects women too. People work insane hours in Japan and the work culture is really toxic. Having children would just enslave people to more of the same, so why bother.

Feminism is one reason, stevia is the other. Like i said there were two drops in history, (just look at the links i posted) How else do you explain Japan's sudden drop in birth rates in the 1970's aka the exact time when they started using stevia?

The exact same drop happened in America at the same time. The sexual revolution also took place during this time.

We recovered slightly and temporarily, but only because the religious right managed to de-shittify society for a couple decades. Japan hasn't had a unifying religion in probably a century, so there was nothing to stop its women from becoming trash that no man would want.

The whorification of the first world will be its death.

It is a fascinating correlation you found, but I don't think many people in Japan use any kind of sweeteners, unless all those clear syrups you can find at all the restaurants are made out of Stevia. I thought that was sugar or corn syrup. But even then sugar consumption there just isn't very high - one reason why there's very few fatties.
