Many such cases after a show has a good S1. They get more money, they hire a bunch of diversity bloat, and then the show goes full normie-tier in terms of wokeness, "quirky" characters that add no value except cringy woke-friendly humor, and bullshit side-plots.
The first five seasons were planned out by the original show creator, and is generally considered the gold standard for the series.
Gets shaky after that for a bit while show creator's off working on another show, gets better after they find their footing again, but may not necessarily match up to the first five seasons.
Still some rather enjoyable stuff in the follow up seasons though. I'd go into more detail, but rather spoilery.
It can be amazing, but eventually they end up killing everything, and the next big step happens. They end up killing death and various angels and gods after a certain point. That sounds like an anime set up now that I think about it.
There are a lot of campy episodes when they ran out of things to kill. My favorite was the shape shifter who likes horror movies. It becomes like watching Capaldi in Doctor Who. Great actors, some awesome episodes, but the rest isn't up to the standards it should have.
If you actually know the cultures and stuff being talked about, it's obvious the creators just looked at a Wikipedia page briefly and then wrote a script. Sam hein is my prime example of that. There can be some really good episodes that don't quite get it, and then there are the bad ones.
Basically, it's a great show but they run out of things to kill and women think the main characters are cute. You can enjoy it, and recognize a bad episode pretty quickly.
It can be OK but the basic formula for killing any of the monsters is:
sneak attack with the silver bullet
Because one on one the brothers and every other hunter is still just human squaring off against something that will likely tear humans in two so it can eat their heart.
This gets applied to pretty much every single thing they fight, every time they fight it and even includes all the various deities that show up.
I haven't watched it in years, but I really loved much of it back in the day. It gets progressively worse, even before it gets woke, as I recall, but I'd say it's definitely worth a watch.
The first season is very fun, if a little rough, then they kind of get more into the swing of things, before it eventually goes down hill. I think there are even a few decent seasons among the later crap, though, although toward the end it just got unwatchable.
Started in 05 and I recently watched it over the course of a year and a half and overall I liked it. I doubt it could be made today by CW since it has two white male leads.
I'd say the first few seasons, before it devolves fully into "Dogma: the series" were pretty good, the two brothers have good chemistry and it has a good sense of humor to go with the more drama heavy stuff.
It's enjoyable but the later seasons are woke. There is a ridiculous scene of one woman (human) beating two male main characters and of course they need to be saved by a woman...
After defeating the big bad guy it really fucked with suspension of disbelief going for another season... and another, and another...
And while the premise of later seasons degrade the show, several individual episodes remain fun.
In summary, try the first few episodes. If you like it, enjoy the ride untill Lucifer bites the dust.
If not, it dosen't get better so it's not for you.
P.S. : It's still the tale of two brothers saving the day against the forces of Evil, but you won't be spared the occasional "badass woman". Not too much eye-rolling though.
Well they do interact with Satan and demons as well as angels. I really didn’t like how God was portrayed and God has a sister. Im religious and I had to force myself to see it as a fictional story. But if you don’t like that then you may want to skip it.
Yeah, they made God a total pussy, on purpose. Like you said, though, fictional universe. It's an interesting interpretation for why the world is shit, if nothing else. As far as anti-God storytelling goes, there's much worse. It was cringe, but sort of interesting too. Till they started shoving it into everything, at least.
There's alot of satanic shit like demons,Satan himself but it's usually the main dudes and angels beating them up now I'm not religious but I would think someone who is would want to see that shit
First season was good.
They figure out eventually that most the audience is female, and then cater the shit out of em.
I dont recommend. But its not bad
I never considered that. It did seem to get away from the action/adventure aspect

It's really good but gets pretty woke towards the end but will take you awhile to get there cause there's so many seasons

Yes, basically. Only death has my favorite line in the entire show.
Death also has the best themesong when he first shows up.
smt rpg

What's good about the show is the first couple seasons depict realistic, brotherly love and competent men.
Show wasn't anything special in 2005, but today it's like splashing cold water on your face.

it started off shlocky but fun. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it but if it was on in the background as ya did something else? Maybe.
It went off the rails into melodrama and huge 'epic' tales with multiple dimensions, while getting more women orientated and woke.
It's a good show. What Ender910 said pretty much mirrors my thoughts on it. Here's a video of one of the Winchester's singing Eye of the Tiger on set

Also, does it have anything satanic in it? Because that's also a turn off for me.

That’s a good point.
Honest question: Would you be okay with Satanic imagery if it was always portrayed as a BAD thing, like it is in Doom?
Thats the plot.
No jokes, one of the brothers is like the elect of God, the other the chosen of Satan.
But why would you know this little about the show? Imdb/google could have clued you in, if the title "supernatural" didnt already.
I know season 1 makes it seem like its The Hunt: Showdown. But its more devil may cry if designed for women.
Dmc3 to be precise.
There's alot of satanic shit like demons,Satan himself but it's usually the main dudes and angels beating them up now I'm not religious but I would think someone who is would want to see that shit
Women like it, so I'm going to say a solid no.
More specifically, the show sucks because a few seasons in the writers realized women like it.
The first season is actually quite tolerable.
