Yes. The guy had a mother. She was a woman. She probably told him to defraud old women so that her #MoreFeminineAllies would be able to use it as propaganda to further dehumanize men. They will use that to do far more damage to men than they suffered from it.

Anyone who gives someone they don't know well millions is a moron. But they're also a victim of fraud...regardless of sex. Both the men and the women thought they were getting someone who was out of their league, and did stupid shit to try to hold on to it; that's how cons work. You make them work against their own interests because they think they'll get something - usually undeserved - out of it. Be it get rich quick, romance, or a mix of the two.
Men and women both try to get one over on reality, and end up paying the price. Both men and women deserve both blame and sympathy. But to pick and choose is silly; to say the women deserved it but the men were victims just doesn't work for me.
