Wowee, you think he would have learned by now
He had to try at least. It also means he can retire with pay and not have to make another show.
No he didn't have to apologize. He already has more money than he could ever spend.
If I were him, I would have wrote a second article full of quotes from famous women about men that are ten times worse than what he said about that cunt Meghan. And I would end it by saying you're all hypocrites and I have nothing to apologize for.
I would be surprised if such an article - or perhaps book - isn't in the works already.
So...post like I do?
Seriously.
Every time Clarkson doubled down, he was untouchable. The one time he apologized (the 'catch a nigger by the toe' incident), they smelled blood, went after him even harder, and he got fired.
Then he went back to doubling down, and enjoyed another period of being untouchable. ...And then went and apologized, and again, all the apology did was attract more attention, more calls to excommunicate him.
DO. NOT. FUCKING. APOLOGIZE.
SJW's always double down, and so should you. Become an absolute bastard. Be utterly fucking evil. And smile.
I think you should apologize if you're sorry. Maybe he is. I dunno.
When I say "never apologize to SJWs" I am presupposing that what was said was well thought out.
So they not just lose him, but probably ALSO Richard Hammond, James May and some of the team working with him as it's a package deal as the BBC found out after!,
Playing devil's advocate on this for Amazon (I know), there is a lot of 'likely, sources say' in this article that makes me think the media are pushing this but Amazon itself just stopped events and announcing shows, seeing if this shit will blow over and waiting for the view numbers for season 2 of Clarkson's Farm as if that's higher than season one, I'm betting the execs won't give a shit about some prissy former royals.
It also struck me that this could also function as contract renegotiation fodder, as I expect they feel they can now lowball the boys a bit on price.
That would be an extremely smart move made by competent business professionals!
Probability of being true: 8%
After funding Rangz of Power for a billion dollars I don't put much stock in Amazon's business competency
It's why I went generous with 8%!
Amazon is like a schizophrenic girlfriend, making shit like Rings of Power but then something good like Reacher, Terminal List and the 3rd season of Jack Ryan which was an improvement on season 2.
I really don't understand them at times, it's why I can't slot them into the 'fuck you' pile with Disney and Netflix
Yeah, all those rumors and weird ideas about Tom Cruise came out around the time his contracts were getting renewed. Is he crazy? Well yeah, he works in Hollywood. Why did it only come out when money was on the line though?
Good point.
I don't think anyone is supposing a Grand Tour minus Clarkson will be made. Amazon's just willing to dump it. Which might be convenient for them. It seems enormously expensive to film, and streaming services have been reducing their appetite for that.
Welp, I'll miss the Grand Tour.
Does anyone have an archive of his original article that started all this? I'm curious to see the full context and when I looked last night it seemed to be impossible to find. Admittedly I'm not the best at finding things anyway.
Amazon's loss, except they are probably also secretly happy to can his farm show so he won't portray rural people positively anymore.
The Lotus Eaters podcast has it on screen here. He said he hated her using a 1-to-1 reference to a scene from a famous TV show.
Hahahahaha all this over that in a tabloid? I'm not surprised though.
Is this a feminist thing in that he has insulted a stronk blak womyn or is it more of a lese majeste thing?
I was holding back, so I don't think I have an archive. Sorry.
