I'm trying to understand why they pushed out Chapek. Initially I thought it was because of his feud with Florida and the shit performance of all their new woke productions. But when Iger came back, he doubled down on Disney continuing this path. Now it seems more like it was just personality conflicts with other executives.

I think he was just the fall guy. Iger was "ousted" and Chapek was installed as CEO at a suspiciously convenient time (i.e. weeks before the lockdowns), which leads me to believe the latter was put in charge simply so that he would take the blame for the inevitable downturn Disney would suffer. Then Iger could just sweep back in and "save" the company (and pave the way for this creepy broad once his contract's up). Chapek largely didn't do anything to change what Iger had already set in motion, and when he did, the wokies at Disney were very easily able to bully him into submission. We saw this with his grudge match against DeSantis for the anti-grooming bill almost immediately after he said he was going to make Disney less political.
I wish I hadn't.

Chapek was a placeholder while Iger tested the waters for a shot at politics on a Dem ticket. That didn’t work out, so Iger slithers back under his Disney rock.
She's botanist with vending machine degree in economics. Her resume listed here might as well as say she stands on corners turning signs for brothels with how badly she has fucked this company over. Her work at First Interstate Bancorp was part of the failure and dissolution of that bank. If anything, she's a master at creative accounting and nothing else.
