Selective Service and the right to vote should be changed.
There can be no equal protection under the law, when men are required to register and may be forcibly drafted to go fight, while women are not required.
Or women should not get the right to vote, unless they somehow make a personal sacrifice on the same level as the draft.
As it is now, men are property of the state.
(And isn't this interesting, autocorrect on my phone automatically capitalizes women, but not men.)
Yep pretty much, men are required to become property of the state by force of law.
I have to point out that, as a disabled man, I was granted an exemption--which also applies to jury duty.
Part of me wishes I COULD perform my civic duty and participate in the justice system, but here we are.
I'm not disputing your point, you're right. I just had to make this exception clear.
EDIT: Shit, you did talk about proving exemptions. I don't know how I missed that. That's on me.
Women are never going to let us send them to war. How would they threaten us if we get too close to stopping them?
Women should not be sent to war to fight.
If you give me some time, I'll expand on that thought a bit more later, if you want.
They should not. Because of that, they should not decide whether a war should be fought.
To be fair, voters in the US don't get a say in that either.
They did until recently.
Voters haven't been able to meaningfully influence foreign policy for decades.
The CIA has far more influence than the entire voting populace of the US.
Women make up 3/5 of defense contractor CEOs : Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics and Boeing Defense.
If you can profit off it, you can be part of it.
Broke: Women can profit off war, thus they should be forced to participate in war
Woke: Women shouldn't be allowed to profit off war either
I'd rather have three women profiting off war and millions of them scared of the consequences of their vote, than no women profiting and them voting for warmongering psychopaths routinely out of spite.
Bespoke: Women should also not be able to vote
You can't even get the right to put them in the draft. What hope do you have of that?
Once again, we see liberal ideology obfuscating power relations with an implication of an idiotic bottom up view of power. Imp's comment here suggest that wars happen as an expression of organic voter will. There is little reason to think that is the case.
Who do you think supports the Ukraine war? It's always women.
Need someone to stay home and open the backdoor for the new seed.
The GOP can be relied upon to produce an enemy victory 99% of the time. Fucking hopeless.
Well yeah, that's why the idea of an "alt right" popped up. Not the Spencer forced version, but masses of people who called themselves such without even knowing he existed.
The GOP has decades of being controlled opposition at their best, and actively also Left at worst.
I keep mentioning that the Reagan amnesty was in the 80s, and no one has a convincing argument why "*this time the GOP will be useful."
Reagan either got played hard by the progs, or was in on giving the progs an out on that whole amnesty deal.
He didn't get played. If he did, the GOP would have felt betrayed and did something about it. They wanted it. They just didn't want blame.
Which is what I suspect as well, writing the amnesty bill as it was, gave the GOP an out to say "We tried! Vote for us again harder!", while getting what they want or are apathetic to.
We need elected officials that actually put the needs of the citizens and the country first.
But the chances of that happening are slimmer than the chance that I will win the lottery.
Yeah, even if you give the more lenient interpretation of things like that, such as "this was him compromising with the Left naively thinking it would put the issue to rest," its still a problem. The GOP should not be compromising or even cooperating with the Left in any form and any time they do so we are losing for it.
There is one party, because they all have the same puppeteer.
BlackRock.
Perhaps if the south had properly argued that chattel slavery was for the economic welfare and security of the country we would still have it in the same way we have military slavery for all males aged 18+.
Who were the GOP lawmakers?

Probably these.
Repeal the 19th.
