If anything I'd say it goes against the text that could be construed as some of the moral teachings of the old mythology: Sayings of the High One verse 12, which basically says not to be a drunkard.

Rituals are by definition formally structured and repeatable. If you continue to hold gatherings like that and structure them the same way every time, they will eventually become a ritual.
