Seriously though props to him taking out his earpiece and continuing to mention it, they were probably SCREAMING for him to stop but now he said it, he'll be under close watch as they can't punish him for this but they'll look for any excuse to void his contract after this.
He's a talking head, and as such, just another paid mercenary and hypocrite. This time the hypocrite encountered a village to be massacred, but noticed that one of the kids looked like his son. And he finally had a moment of conscience and decided to disobey orders and not mow down the entire village. No this time he would spare the kid that looked just like his own son.
