What does that mean for NC, OK, FL, and VA then? This only tells me the default baseball interest for people is the Yankees if/when they don't necessarily have a "home" market (Florida is a special exception).
Don’t know about OK, but, Florida gets a lot a people from New York retiring there. NC and VA get people moving from NY for jobs in Charlotte, Raleigh, and DC or those who moved to Florida, hated it and stopped halfway back to NY
This is completely accurate, and I have personally observed it over the years. Another weird migration pattern I found, when I visited Puerto Rico, every third person I met (and basically all of the English speakers) were retirees from Pennsylvania. I guess they were trying to avoid the New Yorkers in Florida so went a little further.
From my time traveling through NC and VA I noticed people from NC are typically braves fans or possibly supporters of whatever their local minor league team has an affiliate agreement with. VA natives are typically Braves fans (from back when they had the Richmond braves minor league team) Nationals, or pirates fans. The Yankees support is almost entirely transplants.
OKC is home to the Dodgers AAA team, also called the Dodgers. I'd bet this is skewed by people searching for tickets or the schedule or whatever for the OKC Dodgers.
It means it's time to call the exterminators, they have a pest problem.

Wow, Mariners have some fans in Montana. I wonder how that happened. It couldn't be the sudden movement of Seattlites moving into areas like Spokane and Cour D'alene I've seen happen. No one just buys a house without looking because it's easier to buy in cash than continue living in the ever sinking cities. Nah, it has to be that the Mariners were actually pretty good this year and had fairweather fans.
