tl;dr Sydney was literally being squished between 2 superfats on a full plane, despite American Airlines own policy saying they needed to buy 2 seats, and AA tells her to shut up, bigot.
It ended up becoming something of a news story with a couple dozen Google news results. It was the front page story on the Daily Mail: https://archive.ph/AzrgM

.@PlanetTyrus, thank you for echoing my sentiments about obese passengers on planes. And thank you for going to extra step to call out airlines who pick and choose which rules they enforce. Loved this. 👏
Most haven't bothered reaching out to Sydney for comment: https://twitter.com/SydneyLWatson/status/1582366253473181697
Dude. @BrookeELRolfe rightly calls me "doctor" in her first article about me, but says I "claim" to be Aussie-American. Now she's saying I'm not a "doctor" but I AM Aussie-American. To confirm: I have an honorary doctorate and I am also Aussie-American. This isn't hard.
These dumbasses also retroactively edited their first article to fix all their wrong language. Journalists - you can reach out to me. I will answer you and save you from looking like the morons you normally are.

Here is a sample of the nice emails journalists can expect when they contact me for comment (which I'd prefer they do, rather than making shit up)
Brooke Rolfe wrote about it for News.com.au - "Airline responds after woman shames overweight passengers" : https://archive.ph/v0812
Sydney had put her display name on Twitter as "Dr Sydney Watson". Rolfe took her doctorate at face value but wrote that she "claims to be an American-Australian political commentator". The woman who claims to be a reporter failed to reach out to Sydney for comment.
Then she stealth edited her article to remove references to her being a doctor and apparently confirmed she is a conservative, right-wing American-Australian political commentator. Then they added the CONTROVERSIAL slur: https://archive.ph/6qclS
Sydney Watson, a conservative, right-wing American-Australian political commentator who is no stranger to controversial subjects
Sydney has since gotten a response from the airline, including a gif cert for a whole $150 dollars! https://twitter.com/SydneyLWatson/status/1582130147565584384
Well, here's the email I got from American Airlines.
Sydney made a video about the incident too: https://youtu.be/Lj7CfsL_118
Anyone over 100 kilos should be classified as cargo.
Fine. You get classified as livestock.
HEY! YOU CAN'T PARK THAT ANIMAL OVER THERE! THAT'S ILLEGAL!
6'3" 270 and completely agree.
I hope both of you are insanely swole
My wife has told me to get into strongman competitions.
Andre the Giant bought two seats, are you too good for something a bigger (hueahueahue) man than you would do?
Username checks out.
I think, having watched the whole video, the most sad, pathetic thing about this is that the Daily Mail (and then, in particular, News.com.au) grabbed this thing for clicks, went on a virtue-signalling rant about "fat shaming", victim-blamed Sydney to heck and back, and, weirdly, took the "Dr" bit from her Twitter bio at face value, while also stalking her old photos, and saying that she "claims to be an American-Australian political commentator" - as in, to explain... They queried the legit bit, and took the sarcastic, joking bit at face value...
Modern "journalism" (churnalism?), folks!
Women's first world problems are definitely news while we have skyrocketing inflation, three possible world war powderkegs and a major economy nearly collapsing because they elected a woman with no economic knowledge because she was a woman.
I forgot how much of a whiny bitch you are.
A cutting critique from someone as stoic as yourself. Ah, wait. No. You chimp out constantly.
The plane was full. She tried to get the brother to switch seats w/ her so the 2 fat siblings would be next to each other and he refused. Apparently the FAs were trying to see if they could get a child to switch seats with.
But at the gate the brother/sister should've been told they needed to buy 2 seats each. They'd bitch since there wasn't room on this flight but that's their issue for being morbidly obese and not properly buying 2 seats when booking.
Because just as fat people don’t want to date other fat people, fat people don’t want to sit next to other fat people on planes.
Uh Oh. Thought police in 5....4....
You wouldn't be if you saw the pic of the people she had the misfortune to be seated with
