The Man in the High Castle was incredible, then it took an abrupt nose dive as they decided the nazis weren't acting mindlessly retarded enough and that their protag needed to turn into a Mary Sue because woman.
From S1 the Obergruppenführer guy completely stole the show. He had potential to be not just a complex villain but the true anti-hero of the story, who with his sickly son and a life full of suppressed regret, would have had motive to help the other characters correct history.
Watched like 2 or 3 first eps, a very poor "adaptation" of a really good book.
I do t know why they so need to rewrite things. Make your own shit, change title, say it was just inspired by this or that (like Soldier from Tomorrow -> Soldier -> The Terminator, or Who Goes There? (aka Frozen Hell) -> The Thing from Another World -> The Thing).
I'll agree, that's probably one drawback that can be a little bit of a downer. Though in some respects it is somewhat fitting to the setting. I find large building projects can make a place feel a lot more lively though. And unlike Valheim, I feel like there's usually something fun to keep me occupied. Even if the long-term goals don't exactly pay off all that well.
The Conan the Barbarian series never come to fruition at Amazon and in 2020 producer Frederik Malmberg moved the project to Netflix where he’s working on both live-action and animated adaptations of the character.
Uh oh, this could be even worse. At least Amazon lets some decent male-centric series through like Reacher and Terminal List. When has Amazon produced anything that doesn't push The Message in the last few years?
This is a great decision and I applaud them. If only they would avoid ruining other entertainment due to its inherent toxic whiteness instead of blackwashing it
There have been a lot of attempts to make a Conan recently, and I can't say I enjoyed any of them. This is a lot harder than beefcake beats up baddies in ancient times.
Probably for the best, Amazon prime for lack of better words is kinda 'schizophrenic' with its series
On the one hand they release stuff like rings of power to be on message and waste millions in money
On the other hand, they have the Grand Tour guys, Terminal List and The Expanse so it's like they keep switching between woke and we want money.

Nah the woman will save us.
Yes, it's the woke propagandist's bait-and-switch.
They pulled the same shit with Westworld.

For the message
There's absolutely no way any of us will ever see a new Conan TV series that's any good in our lifetimes.
The game's probably the closest we'll ever see. Not quite the same, medium-wise, but at least it's something.
Didn't that come out in 2016? I think it was right around the clown world cutoff point.
Early access around 2017 maybe, and release a year later. It's still been getting some solid updates and plenty of modding support to boot.
The world manages to feel a little empty even on larger servers. I haven't checked out the new map yet.

Good for the world. Fuck Amazon.

Good!

Yeah, and their other series are doing SO WELL otherwise...
Since Amazon Conan the Barbarian's writing would be about the intellectual equal of Grignr the Ecordian.... Not feeling too bad about this.
