It doesn't matter if they were baited. They have done nothing but fish from the very first minute of his candidacy. Hundreds of anonymous sources were believed tacitly one after the other. Events were warped and elements fabricated on the regular for things that were actually recorded, and those recordings eventually shown. Nothing has dissuaded them from employing blind-fire tactics. Because no person will ever suffer for doing it. They will be a hero if, even being wrong, one of their fishing attempts reveals even the tiniest, slight, previously unknown spec of dirt.
They don't care that they are wrong. They believe in the axiom that they themselves exist under. Everyone is dirty. All that has ever been required to nuke ANY politician is a thorough dig (including under false pretext). Yet, after arraying their entire machine for going on 8 full years now, they have yet to uncover any actual thing that has stuck or had even the hint of believability to it.
Getting a full FBI raid on Trump's vacation property while he wasn't there was well worth any pretext. Because he definitely had something to be found. Coming up dry, they'll curse their luck and run it up the pole again, and soon. They don't care. Embarrassment does not stick.
The best part of this is that we know for sure beyond all doubt that Trump is the cleanest saint to ever exist in Washington. It is beyond comprehension that he has ever done anything bad, at this point. No one can avoid the Eye of Sauron, and yet somehow, it just can't see his dirty laundry? The inevitable conclusion is that there isn't any to be found in any aspect of his life. There has never been a more vetted man in the history of the world.
That fact will never be recognized widely though. Hate porn is too easy to fap to.

If there was any dirt to find, they would have found it by now. We're the sixth, seventh year of every single three letter agency scoping him out. They got nothing.
That means there is nothing.
It'd be all over the news if they found so much as un-returned library book.

Talking heads keep mentioning the FBI's credibility, but I dont' think they have any. Not among anyone who actually pays attention. Lefties will simp for them, but that's different. They don't actually believe the FBI is into law enforcement; they're just cheering on the abuse because it's not currently directed at them and they have short memories.
Has it been confirmed that the safe was empty?
As I understand it Trump cannot release anything because he doesn't have a copy of the warrant. The FBI didn't even let his lawyers read the warrant during the raid.
AFAIK Trump's lawyers only have worthless public information but not the affidavit and probable cause that was used to get the warrant because it is sealed.

Here's a warrant that allows us to rifle through your stuff and seize anything pertaining to the case. No you can't see the warrant or read the grounds for it. You just need to step aside while we do our thing, oh and we are disabling your cameras too.

From what that the magistrate sealed the probable cause affidavit so Trump had nothing to release but a document saying that FBI can raid his place.
Ah if only Geraldo Rivera could have been there at the historic opening of President Trump's vault.
I think it's more likely that the FBI just made up a reason to hit someone they're politically opposed to, looking for any and all dirt possible so they can remove him from the political equation entirely.
But this theory does at least seem more believable than some of the "4D chess master" memes from a few years ago.
Doing it this close to November means they are desperate. If they found nothing it will backfire so I can only assume that they are certain that Democrats will lose and they want to destroy Trump while they can. Trump changed the game and opened the way for unapologetically America first, non-globalist politicians and ideas to become main stream. Not so long ago a threat of being called an ist or phobe by CNN or NYT would send anyone cowering, now you see more and more politicians defying the narrative. They tried to destroy him with the russia hoax, impeachments and now with the J6 trials. Nothing stuck. If anything Trump seems stronger now.
This is Q level conspiracy theory stuff. Deepstate is flexing because weakness invites aggression and they know nobody is going to do anything about this. Any ideas of Trump's master plan evaporated when Pence double crossed him.

I'm mostly burned out on the 4D chess stuff, but it's still a fun theory. When you get down to it, it doesn't really matter. The narrative matters, and people are getting fucking pissed about this nonsense, and rightfully so. I think they're overplaying; doesn't matter why this is there, this looks mighty suspicious, and even the media's covering is looking pretty lame and guilty.
This will just get more people - including hopefully across the aisles - on the "Fuck the FBI" train. Which is a very good thing because, well, fuck the FBI. They clowned themselves good on this one, I think.
