Why? It's standard political fair to make a generic statement like that. Dem politicians will condemn the attack itself and continue to support policies that put the attackers back on the street. Their words are hollow.
Republicans weren't even on a good track in criminal justice either (First Step Act and assorted BLM sympathizers), but they're at least beginning to respond to the reality that this softer, gentler, BLM-approved criminal justice reform effort is getting people killed.
That's true. Their coverup didn't appear to working, though. Dems actually used to be pretty savvy about "getting ahead" of damaging news. They would have friendly outlets break it to cushion the blow and frame it in the last damaging way.
I think it's a larger divide. It seems like a military vs. civilian divide. The CIA, FBI, NIH, NASA, are all completely pozzed. The DIA, DARPA, NRO, and US Marshals (tons of former military), seem to be more professional (even if they aren't anti-Leftist).
With the exception of the Pentagon purging itself as best as it can, it seems like the military agencies are trying to avoid the rampant politicization that the civilian counter-parts are involved in.
There is also something to be said that the Marshals are usually too busy doing gangster shit to be the political hitmen of the Cathedral. There may also be something to be said about the fact that they still cultivate the old cowboy mystic and image they are famous for, and that may draw the right kind of people.
I think that's part of it. People who are technically focused on difficult work can't afford to accept the bloat of the Social Justice Racket without hurting themselves. And yeah, the culture of the Marshals probably has something to do with their institutional preservation from the SJR.
While the accusation of unequal enforcement of the law is absolutely something we need to solve...this incident is not something that should be held up as evidence.
To be clear, the dude is an asshole, and he should face legal charges, but this wasn't an attempted assassination, or even really an attack. For whatever reason, he didn't think Zeldin should be speaking, and tried to take the mic, it looks like.
Yeah, if that was an assassination attempt, it was the worst one I've ever seen (and Zeldin didn't seem to be noticing anything until the last moment). He could have stabbed Zeldin several times in the time he spent just standing there.
That said, the outrage is that they let him out the very same day.
This did surprise me.

They tried very hard to cover this up. Biden commenting on it is inconsistent with that goal.

That doesn't work in the social media age. This shit goes viral seconds after it happens.
Yep. They can't do it so easily anymore. That's why they're more draconian with censorship.
Empty words, waiit until September when the mostly peaceful diversity riots kick off
Is the guy brought up on federal charges? Is the FBI investigating his associations to determine if he is a cell in a larger terrorist organization?
If not then its all bullshit.
What part of "If they didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all" or "No bad tactics, only bad targets" don't you understand?
That statement is utterly meaningless and he was only made to say it because it might look bad if he didn't.
Me too. Then again he did condemn the violence during summer of love…….after realizing it was hurting Dems.
I'm glad that some federal agencies aren't entirely pozzed. The US Marshals Office seems to be one of them.
The Marshals are decent because all the bad actors are shitting up the FBI.

Eh...

Here is the "attack."

Dude, that is a clean shoot all day long.
Dude walks up to you with even brass knuckles and starts shouting "your done", you can assume lethal intent from that.
This guy grabbed him, and brandished stabbing knuckles. I'd 100% call that an attack, and a potential assassination attempt.
Did you not see the little blade he had. That alone makes it an attack maybe not an assassination attempt but an attack.
It was intimidation or a threat, plus possession of weapon. If he'd wanted to stab him, he had plenty of time.
Again, not excusing the guy. Just saying the actual incident is miles different than what it's being portrayed as.
Threat or intimidation is still an attack.
