You really shouldn't be looking for new jobs right now. You should be focusing on making yourself invaluable so that when more layoffs come, it won't be you; or if it is you, most of the company is going down with you, and you can demonstrate your value to another employer.

My area at least has a general staffing shortage, despite population increases. Everyone is taking whoever they can get.
