So that's a big middle finger to everyone who's spent the past few years telling me it wasn't a honey pot.
Get out.
And yet a lot of their programming is still on youtube?
RT's best gig has always been its foreign reporting and not national news. That's a big hole to fill.
They had some surprisingly good and impartial reporting on Russia too. Like their short documentary/reportage on the 1993 coup/revolution/slaughter in Moscow was just excellent, and included Korzhakov in a tracksuit casually admitting/boasting he was ordered to personally execute Khasbulatov and took his gun to do it "but there were too many witnesses there" when the parliament surrendered, which otherwise would be just shocking but I guess it's just normal in Russia. So I've watched it repeatedly but can't find this particular now since everything RT and associated on YT is now banned in Poland.
I said some and that's coming from someone who should be biased against them.
The particular video began and ended with a grave of a young boy who was killed by most probably the troops loyal to the government despite being only an onlooker (machine gun fire in a street).
Also in another example, this time foreign reporting, they had an English speaking Arab correspondent doing a 360 VR tour in Homs after it was completely destroyed by Syrian government (many months later) and the reporter specifically noted how you can't hear anything here, no birds, nothing, because the city was DEAD. It really didn't feel like propaganda to show the Russian intervention on the side of Assad in a good light, not at all.
Obviously can't even find it now, but here's some other people walking around the former city in an UN video, also nothing the "haunted" silence: https://youtube.com/watch?v=zOS1va7eFWk
Their American reporting was great. They didn't really leave room for propaganda there either because most of it was extremely well cited a d didn't offer much by way of their own opinion.
I didn't realize how much I liked RT until I started looking around more for Ukraine-Russia news. Most news is just opinion pieces and editorials now.
Did Telegram itself ban them or was it Apple and Google?
AFAIK the Telegram apps on the Apple and Google store are HEAVILY censored. Have been for a while.
In Germany lots of channels critical of Corona measures have been censored but they're still available if you download the app directly from Telegram.
Of course telegram has also started banning some channels completely after pressure from German politicians.
telegram says its Google blocking these channels. not sure how exactly that would work if Telegram is encrypting its traffic
Apple and Google have some way to censor channels they don't like in the apps in their stores. They've been doing that for a while.
No idea whether that's with or without Telegram's cooperation. Either they inject their own censorship mechanism or they forced Telegram to implement it or get banned.
Encrypting traffic means nothing when a hostile party controls one end of the communication. In this case the app.
Doesn't matter to me who did it. Got the app just to show support for free speech, deleted the app for the same reason.
The Apple/Google censorship doesn't happen if you get the app directly from Telegram's site.
Do you have something wrong with you? Your posts read like the ramblings of a mad man. You honestly seem like you're bordering on psychosis.
You sound exactly like every woke cultist; only thing missing in your verbal diarrhea is the word "incel"
No Russian ever called me a Russian bot.
Yep. A lot of these retards are no different to woke cultists.
Hang about. I got the impression that Telegram was to facilitate free expression. I didn't get an account because it requires a phone number. Any recommendations?
If they ban Ramzan it wil be...interesting.
Look how he reacts to things there: https://www.rferl.org/a/chechnya-kadyrov-telegram-channel-1adat-abductions/31686440.html
Session and Signal is my only way to communicate.
Signal is not really better, since they rely on AWS. Threema is better (Switzerland, hosted on own hardware, no phone number required)
Session is my first any way. Its p2p
their telegram channel now has a bot that redirects to this one https://t.me/swentr
