Stopped watching the Simpsons entirely after watching the first few minutes of the 2020 election episode. It had been going down in quality for years. I think around the time of the movie.
Futurama had the same sort of issue. When they brought it back, they did movies that they eventually broke up into episodes.
The characters in both always had some parody to them, but they also contrasted that by giving them real issues and drama. The interactions between the characters were also great, because all of them were flawed. When both series changed their focus to be more on impressive visuals, and constant one-sided politicization both series lost something critical.
Futurama used to be one of my favorite shows, but now I'm completely apathetic about them reviving it.
I was an avid watcher of The Simpsons prior to 2010. Old time fans of the show will tell you the show had long gone to shit by that point, but I liked it enough. 2010 was the year I almost completely stopped watching TV and The Simpsons had nothing to do with that, but clearly I didn't miss out on anything.
Even if we weren't stuck in current year, I'd still say this was a dumb idea. The show ended and had its finale. Multiple times! Let it fucking end already. There is nothing else to say in it! Unless of course you decide to break Fry and Leela up just so you can keep on dragging that damn plot out.
But of course, this is current year, and we all know exactly what it's going to say.
The track record for canceled shows coming back was abysmal even before Current Year. At this point I'd much rather complain about a show that was canceled before its time than complain about one that's gone on way too long.
Oh god please no. As much as I love futurama, they revived it 2-3 times already and there is a definite change in writing from the original seasons. I'm expecting them to butcher the characters and fill it with woke.
It was overtly leftist from the beginning, but the first few seasons before the movies were in that covert 90s liberal subversion style, the MLK illusion kind. After that it went full bore on whatever the bleeding edge of leftism was at the time, from shilling for obongo to shilling gay marriage.
It has been a long time since I've watched any. The movies after the first cancellation were okay; some were better than others. The episodes after the revival weren't as good and defintitely relied to much on direct reference. The 3 episodes I remember most clearly are the "iphone" episode, the "susan boyle" episode, and the "garden of eden" episode. Perhaps the originals had something similar and the references are just too old for me to be aware of.
I would only be interested in an HD restoration along the lines of what old Star Trek got.
Reminder that they had an entire episode devoted to endorsing Obama, basically acting as an ad campaign.
This will probably end up being the woke-ist show of all time.
I don't remember that. Maybe I'm just oblivious.
I know Bender's voice is a woketard. I'm sure most of the rest of them are too. Wasn't Groening doing weird shit with Epstein?
I never heard anything about this, but I'm completely unsurprised by the claim. Wokists turn out to be kiddy diddlers every fucking time.

The first four seasons of Futurama are about as good as it gets.
This (fourth?) revival will be woke garbage.
Stop! It's already dead... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcZzlPGnKdU
The original series ended with a thud. No use trying to desecrate Futurama's corpse.

I want to be excited about this….. but I remember what year it is

When are they going to bring back Alien Nation? I want black Tenctonese so I can watch them dissolve in salt water.
