The COVID Jerk

Very few people actually believe there is currently a deadly pandemic happening or that masks work the way the science priests claim, and those who do believe it all have willingly confined themselves to their homes. This is self-evident by the fact that even the most rabid branch COVIDian is completely comfortable sitting at a crowded table while people take their masks off to eat or drink.
People such as the author simply get off on the righteous indignation and vicarious power that has been granted to them by the powers that shouldn't be.
I have a friend- although I'm more and more tempted to put that word in scare quotes- who goes out to the bar every week but is on the board of her son's school where she pushes mandatory masking. It's absolutely fucked and I don't know what is wrong with her brain.
Women like subjugation, they like being subjugated and in turn subjugating others.
It’s hilariously bad, the guy says to respect other perspectives, just not yours.
I just can't conceive of how these people exist without their brains exploding. Every single action he describes the jerks as performing applies to what he does in the article. And he either doesn't notice, doesn't care or both.
Is it just narcissism? Extreme mental retardation? Brainwashing? All of the above? The cognitive dissonance should make Are We the Baddies play on constant repeat in the heads of any rational person.
"No bad tactics, only bad targets," is the leftist slogan you need to keep in mind to reason through this.
It isn't about any action being objectively bad. There is no action the left will not take & then justify in its attacks on the right. They earnestly believe they have moral warrant to take ALL actions to stop the evil people thwarting their utopian desire for revolution.
There will be no "are we the baddies" moment.
Lmao, look at the amount of psychological self-projection on this one.
How do they manage to word everything obnoxiously? How about we don't fucking "unpack this" and you just state your stupid opinions without all the stupid trappings.
Phew, they almost forgot to add the Nazi caveat. Can't have people thinking they're jerk's for refusing to even consider the perspectives of wrong thinkers as people. Good job we added a second standard of decency for people who someone somewhere maybe called a Nazi.
I would like to amend my previous "obnoxious" to "teeth grindingly cuntish". That's right, you're a child and you're not just killing grandma, you're killing dad too. All because you accurately assessed the low risk covid currently poses and responded proportionately in line with all the other similar risks we willingly take on a daily basis.
The writer looks exactly like what you'd expect. They are literal memes.
They are spiritually unwell.
Outside of the stuff everyone else picked out as garbage, even in these "let's be nice" articles they really have a flawed idea of the mindset of the vast majority on the other side. As if for example I want so much for vaccines to kill everyone that I'm looking forward to standing on the piles of bodies of friends and family that would be gone. No, it would fucking suck. Hell, most of my family in particular that didn't are the annoying ones I don't like that much. Most of the ones that took it aren't even the total CNN sheep, they just thought they were doing the right thing, or were kids that didn't really have a choice, etc.
Or what about my emotional perspective. I had a shitty time of things the second half of 2020. It's tough being cut off from the world abruptly. Blah, blah "do things with just your household." My household is ONE. I'm a tough old shit that will trudge on, but thinking of how I was, there's no way in hell that there weren't a shit-ton of suicide statistics in that camp too. Oh wait, they don't matter, because a Covidian might feel uncomfortable. I live in Texas too, where I didn't have to put up with it as much.
They are collectivists. To them all kind, caring human beings are naturally collectivists. They don't understand how anyone could NOT be a collectivist without being a selfish bastard. Hence he has to try to "unpack it" and come up with some rational explanation.
(example: in the game Disco Elysium - created by communists - there's a conversation where if you signal a leaning towards Libertarian philosophy, you lose -1 Empathy points)
Empathy is one of the least favorite things they co-opted--the notion that the only appropriate reaction to empathy is to coddle and comfort. There could be someone who is living through the exact shitty situation that I had in the past, of course empathy would be a given. So if based on my own experience I think they should suck it up and take the hard road and they will be better in the end, but nope that's not empathy. It's all "oh I'm so sorry, you didn't do anything wrong you shouldn't have to suffer you poor little thing."
I wonder if that's why parenting keeps getting suckier too. Go directly to the coddle/comfort and not what's best for the kid to learn from.
Oh no, someone's going to call me a jerk if I don't do what they say! How will I live my life with such shame?
The author looks about as worthless as you'd expect.
