Sounds like a good start, but they should go even lower.
How does hypothetical negative stock price work?
I am curious as to what is being proposed. :)
Turn the stock into debt. Bankruptcy is too easy of an escape.
Interesting proposal. It becomes something that one would be financial shameful of.
Better make sure you don't get left holding the bag when a company does a buyback on their underwater stock.
paypal does literally nothing unique anymore. they were propped up by being the ONLY valid electronic payment for ebay, when ebay wasn't complete garbage. now ebay has been overrun by fixed price sales, and everything else moved to facebook marketplace. it's just another avenue for the same trash being sold on amazon, but now you have to wait longer to get it.
there are now dozens of players in the electronic payment space, and crypto on top of that.
add on shit tier customer service, censorship, seizure of funds, and countless other problems, and anyone with a pulse could have seen this coming.
I have sometimes entertained the pie-in-the-sky thought of Twitter or Google shutting down overnight and what would happen, but from what you are saying it doesn't sound like the death of Paypal would do anything. I might disagree as there are a few tiny storefronts I know who only accept Paypal.
if paypal disappeared today, the storefronts would be switched over to stripe or square or one of the million other storefront processors.
yeah, the filings to adjust it from WEI to capital gains is fucking retarded. i'm not a business... anything i'm selling on ebay is very likely at a loss. it's bureaucracy for money, nothing more, nothing less.
PayPal is being intentionally devalued before purchase by Microsoft.
I can see that.
Why on earth would they want it?
He's joking. It's a reference to Blizz bring bought up after their value went down after seven scandals.
Yeah, I don't have a PayPal for that reason. Would anyone tolerate that crap from their bank?
Not when I can get a CC payment app and gateway from my commercial bank that is half the transactional cost of PayPal.
LMAO! Matches their customer support.
That's a massive drop. Can anyone explain?
PayPal posted their latest earnings report and it missed badly, and included guidance that most of their new users were found to be just people exploiting the free vouchers for joining, meaning they were actually losing active users Y/Y
5% fees simply for middle manning a transaction sure sucks the “fun” out of using their platform. I’ve been having clients pay me friends and family and then sending them a “paid in full” invoice just to fuck with PayPal. Screw getting 5% of my cash for a digital transaction. 1.5% to move my money to my own bank account? I can see these fees getting jacked up even more with stock tanking…..
Facebook also took a 22% haircut.
It's glorious. Cheers me up after watching Goolag rocket while MSFT traded flat.
Maybe the feminist investment funds they backed can buy the dip!
Serve em' right
Paypal down -50% in the last year.
