Wikipedia is already listing Meat's death as solely Covid, when we haven't even necessarily confirmed that yet. Because OF COURSE they are... Anything to keep the fucking narrative going... Side note: I forgot how fucking GOOD his music is. Like, at its best, it's definitely as good as Queen. (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

It’s an interesting symptom of the decline of the internet, and the politicization of everything, to see how terrible Wikipedia is, now…

I’m not denying that it has always been shit, but it used to at least pretend to be “objective”, or “unbiased”…

Now? What a complete fucking joke!!

Anyone else have experience of attempting to make small edits to incorrect information on there?? It’s an absolute bloody nightmare! Especially when it is something contentious or “woke”…

For my part, it was trying to correct the historical record for places in Australia, like where someone claimed a whole town, of some 10,000 people or so (Toodyay, Western Australia) was on ”Aboriginal Land”…

“Aboriginal Land” has a specific legal meaning, in Aus, and it does not cover Toodyay (fucking obviously). I tried to correct that. They banned my then-IP address. For “vandalism”…

It still says what they (woke powermods) want it to say. Because of course it does…

slow fucking clap

There’s also something rather dark that I noticed at Uni, which is that, academically, you are required to use recent sources, generally things published in the last 5 years, or a decade at most…

What this means, therefore, is that actual books are heavily discouraged…

Sure, fine, online journals are generally “legit”, I get that, but they have to conform to woke “standards”, and my most recent Uni got rid of all its physical journal copies, because they weren’t “up to date”, and the Uni wanted “more study space”, i.e. purely armchairs and desks, for students to sit on their own laptops…

At the same time, they sold off all the good hardware in the campus libraries, because “students can just use their own devices, and get a grant if they need to buy better gear”… Yeah, I’m not making that up.

Anyway, the point of this rant is that no womder academia is fucked.

My “college” (i.e. science) does not even require that all sources be peer-reviewed, only that they be “up to date”, meaning that they must be off the internet, not print. Unless you want to buy the latest print version yourself, of course.

Oh that’s right, they closed the specialist campus bookshops, so you can’t even easily do that, anymore… 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, shit’s bad, man… 😑

I should add, this is a university known for its science (first environmental science degrees in Aus! Lol…), this is not some private humanities college…

What I describe absolutely should not be the case, but here we are… 😕

That's what destroyed Google's search algo. It's not so much the political bias (though there is that), but that they heavily favor news sites and "recent" in their calculation of what's "relevant". It wasn't always that way. Search for some obscure video that you know is on YouTube, and the top results will always be news stories that only tangentially relate to the keywords entered. Your video will be past the 3rd page of results, if it comes up at all.

Brave Search seems to do the same fucking thing. DuckDuckGo is actually better in this regard.

Wikipedia USED to be pretty good.

Same with reddit….

They were sold as free speech but transitioned to far left censorship after they were large enough. (bait and switch)

Nowadays- using those websites is a sign you live in a fake bubble and contact with reality will destroy you. See the recent AntiWork Transgender 20 hour a week interview for proof.

Honestly, any classic album that fucking Rolling Stone Magazine hated is likely to be decent, at this point, and that goes for both Bat 1 and 2, because of course...

They also hated Queen, initially, despite the gay, upper-class, crossdressing bullshit, so there you go...

It's not even woke. It's purely that Rolling Stone wouldn't know good music if it fucking slapped them in the face, lol...

Also amusing how Australians in general (including my family, which is a pity) apparently can't stand Meat Loaf because of one admittedly crap performance at the AFL Grand Final, and his espoused political beliefs, which seems a shame, really... shrug

There's another element to this I don't see being discussed here: not only is Wikipedia saying that it's COVID, Google is listing that as the cause of death with a link to Wikipedia's COVID-19 page. A quick search shows they do this for Herman Cain as well, except the link is to the article "COVID-19 pandemic in Georgia (U.S. state)."

Doing a search for "[name] cause of death wikipedia" with any other CoD shows the cause of death but no link. It would seem that Google is deliberately linking to these articles.

They can cite the source of that, right?

That's their rules...

Meat Loaf died in Nashville, Tennessee, on the evening of January 20, 2022, at the age of 74 with no official cause of death released at the time.[5] Meat Loaf was reportedly ill with COVID-19 and died from COVID-19 complications.

"No official cause of death" oh but its been reported on, these sources must be true. Its funny how they can provide sources and post something as fact when the sources don't actually have any proof either. Its basically the same as "The Earth is flat because these two articles said so"
