Remember when Democrats fought to stop criminal background checks? It ended in less black people being hired. When an objective standard for discrimination on the individual is eliminated a subjective discrimination takes it’s place. This is the only rational recourse, take away the ability to view crime reports and ethnicity/culture becomes the observable metric.
Thomas Sowell's book Discrimimation and Disparities is about this topic. His most commonly used example is that cab drivers in New York wouldn't pickup black customers because it was the best metric they had for avoiding people that would mess up their cab. Uber's system of drivers rating individual passengers fixed this because the drivers had access to a more precise metric.
Inate rcial biases exist. Sowell is right about this. Simple check for this removal of crime stats is to live in the neighborhood that is along the racial and ethnic symmetry as your own.

That is because they're functionally the same metric. There are differences at the individual level, but aggregate data's gonna give you an excellent heuristic.

Y'know, I can see actual justification for that. When you're convicted of a crime, you serve your time in jail and that should be that. It seems cruel and unusual to have someone be unhireable because they stole from Walmart or whatever.
But of course, that assumes we have a functional legal and penal system. And assumes that people become repeat offenders because they have no other opportunities, which is an extension of people commit crime because they're poor... and I've just talked myself out of support for that policy in the span of a comment

How much longer will Uber's rating system survive? All it takes is one study + article in the NYT showing it negatively impacts Blacks.
My example is also from the book. Everyone could use a Sowell injection in their life.
If facts and logic could end progressivism, Sowell would have single handedly overthrown the global order 50 years ago.
And if everyone did, there would be a lot fewer of these problems.

Brown people trust brown people
White people trust white people
Yellow people trust yellow people
American Black people well thats another story.
Edit
Do Black just hate everyone including their own?
The bit he now tries to bury and pretend doesn't exist because shockingly literally everyone knows that distinction. Including white people.
So it was okay to hate niggas when it was just black people, but when white people agreed suddenly its all solidarity.

We know that black kids get into the same colleges with much lower GPAs.
Everybody choosing a surgeon or a lawyer should act accordingly
