Measles is eliminated only in the sense that it is not endemic. There was a major outbreak in 2019 and there haven't been literally zero cases ever. There were 13 cases in 2020, which is an all-time low I believe (probably due to travel restrictions). The Afghan cases didn't make it into the community at large, so this doesn't break 'elimination'.
Yeah its kinda like the bubonic plague in that it just kinda blips into existence every now and then, has a couple people infected long enough to make a headline, then disappears again.
Similar situation happens with most cases of tropical diseases reported in the landlocked states. Either returning or visiting from a location where the tropical disease exists and then costing the local infrastructure treatments.
Are you telling me that with millions of vaccines sitting in storage, and people not even allowed to go out without showing their social credit passport, that they're bringing in unvaccinated people and just... letting them out?

Bubonic is very treatable now, as long as one gets on it fast before it turns into pneumonic (which is what really killed Europe) plague.
