Yeah its kinda like the bubonic plague in that it just kinda blips into existence every now and then, has a couple people infected long enough to make a headline, then disappears again.

Bubonic is very treatable now, as long as one gets on it fast before it turns into pneumonic (which is what really killed Europe) plague.
