Imagine being on the side of Apple and its monopolistic practices. I thought the past few years had bred the free market fundamentalism out of the right, especially when it comes to these tech monopolies, but right-wingers just love getting beatings.
Goddamn right. No single person alive today has seen anything resembling real capitalism where it isn't the bitch of government intervention and central planning. We ARE the CCP economically and most people are just completely blind while they jerk off over "muh mixed economy".
Rofl. "Monopoly". I don't even know a single person who uses Apple computers. Even my boomer parents have switched to Android because even they couldn't rationalize paying such an insane amount.
A completely irrelevant company that only idiots purchase from. Imagine thinking I'm on the side of Apple just because I don't like the federal government issuing diktat.
Couching your ideas and arguments behind a "majority" will win you no love from me. The majority, are retarded. For me, Apple is 100% irrelevant and they always have been which is why using the word "monopoly" just doesn't make any sort of sense. How have I been using non-apple phones and computers my entire life if they have a monopoly?
That's a strange way of saying that Apple should not abuse its market position to squeeze even more profits out of customers and other companies.
Apple should do whatever the fuck it wants and I'm not going to cheer for more central planning and economic interventionism. If you have slaved yourself to their awful products I...hope you enjoy it? As much as I disagree with buying their trash, I'm glad people are free to make that choice.

Same reason Microsoft had a monopoly even though Apple, Linux and UNIX existed. Both the Apple Store and the Google App store are monopolies, pushed by the companies on phones.
Apple should do whatever the fuck it wants
Looks like it will take more beatings and abuse of power by these tech companies before people come to any sort of realization.
But if Epic were allowed to run their own store on iOS, so would the wrongthinkers.
I don't understand whatever point you're making here.
If they really wanted to "run a store on iOS" there's literally nothing stopping them. As much as I despise apple, it's still a computer that you can write code on and release binaries for. Apple should have the right to ban whatever the fuck they want out of their App store. If you're such a cuck that you're going to chain yourself to the distribution tools of your business rivals, well, that sounds fucking retarded and like you're giving power over yourself in a way that you don't need to.
They could produce their app launcher and a store and fucking fornite and it can all work on OSX with zero issues. But the idea that Apple then has to be forced to sell it inside of their application? Fuck no I don't approve of that in anyway at all.

We’ve never had a free market

Isnt' a majority of phones sold in the US made by Apple?

That's the key. That's why the court tried this "Epic win, but only to get their app back on the store" in the hope of making this go away.

Apple doesn't allow sideloading. What you described isn't possible.
What Apple does is like if every Windows PC was locked to W10 S.
"Monopolistic practices" isn't accurate, but insert "anti-customer practices" absolutely is.
Apple isn't a monopoly. They just have a customer base that they've psychologically abused into being mindless consumers.
