I actually cringed just at the concept. Netflix really is intent on destroying everything it touches, honestly.
I can't believe they were actually able to get a license for this to begin with.
Its just going to tank like absolutely every other. Except I suspect it will be far more cringe than even Dragonball Evolution.
Considering Impel Down is like... 700 chapters in, there's no danger of this guaranteed to be short-lived trash making it anywhere near that.
It was hilarious watching proto-SJWs head-asplode back in the day on that character when the literal ma'am'self was introduced.
There'll be no Arlong pirates because CG too expense, they'll necessarily butcher Nami's backstory as a result, probably take the opportunity to remove all character flaws and make her black. Actually lets go whole hog and merge her with her mom's character since she had a side-shave, those are hot now.
Ussop... they'll keep his nose for no good reason, which will be a forever blight on the proceedings. They'll also make him black because hair-curly = black coded.
Zoro will be Asian, because swords = Asian you bigot. Sanji will have the eyebrow, for no good reason, and WON'T be French... again for no good reason.
Luffy, dear god, Luffy. Nothing I can say, he'll be a horrendous mishmash of the worst kinds of CG, and the worst kinds of progressive writing. They will see the idiot and overlook his infallible moral compass, make him the butt of every joke because "he already is!" He also WON'T be black, because 'monkey' is a slur you racist bigot.
There will also be no good marines. At all, anywhere. AMAB.

Pacific Rim was the closest thing to live action anime done right, and it wasnt even based on a particular anime. Shame it never got a sequel.
I've only heard good things about Kenshin live action movies.
I've watched four of them and they're pretty fucking good. Of course they were made in Japan.
Same with the Death Note ones. The ones directed by Shusuke Kaneko from 2006 not the Netflix trash.

People seem to like the Kenshin one and they also said "Blade of the Immortal" was good too. Maybe them being a bit more grounded in reality, samurai stuff helps.

Why would you make a live-action One Piece? It's practically anime loony toons, it's not going to translate into live-action at all.
they'll screw it up so bad, mainly because they can't begin to understand what makes One Piece what it is.
I enjoyed the old Death Note live action movies from the 2000s, but that's about it.
To be fair even the Japanese have fit makign decent anime adaptations.
Liar Game was a pretty good manga to live action adaptation, although they did change a bit too much from the source material for my liking.
