The reason "My Body; My choice" is a stupid argument for abortion is because the autonomy of the fetus is completely disregarded. The moment pregnancy is established, you have a duty as a mother to care for it- whether or not society enforces that obligation for whatever reason.
Pro-life advocates aren't saying you don't have a right to control your body, they are saying you can't murder your kids at ANY stage of development. You can say a fetus isn't a human being with human rights, but as far as I'm concerned, that's just cope to make ending a life more palatable when you want to dodge the responsibility of parenthood.
Yes, but it is a useful rhetorical weapon to wield against these people at this moment in time so we should make use of it.
I'm not saying we are wrong to use it- in fact, we are the only ones using it correctly! That's my point, really, "my body; my choice" doesn't conflict with our values at all, so we're not being hypocritical when we say both fetuses and the unvaccinated should have their bodily autonomy protected.
Plus, a woman already made the choice with what to do with her body when she got pregnant, and despite the claims of activists, abortion because of rape happens far less than even real covid death numbers for how rare it happens.
That would require a woman to take responsibility for her choices and actions. Never going to happen. Surely there is a nearby man for that?
