I'm currently playing The Forest, Driftland The Magic Revival and Rad Rogers. Not a whiff of all this bullshit. Indies and AA games are the way to go IMHO.
Unlucky for them I'm always behind on racing games, hell I'm still playing F1 2019. Horizon 4 is good enough for me for a while. Although I don't feel like it works great with my wheel at all. If they'd improve the driving dynamics and the AI I'd have more interest. But I doubt it, they are too busy working on pronouns and protesthics. I'm not super rushed to buy Series X anyway.
I think I played one long ago. I have one of the Dirt games (IIRC those are the same series without the branding). Will be good for a challenge eventually as it's a totally different driving feel.
I'm pretty sure I played 2 and skipped 3. Horizon 4 isn't a ton different. Better graphics, lots of cars, but the concept is still drive around a big world and participate in races as part of a "festival".
Yeah I'd totally forgotten they bought Codemasters until I saw something about F1 2021. I like that series for the career mode, but I'm sure it will be ruined with one of their stupid MTX "ultimate teams" where you get to buy cards with different Hamilton virtue signal shirts you can equip that make you go faster.
I do have trouble with MS as well. They toe the line on the woke most of the time. That and I prefer the console experience and think PC gaming isn't as amazing and woke-free as it's made out to be.
