They did the same for Mother's Day
And can be for people in bereavement, and not just about politics.
I was 12 when my grandmother died, in 1980 - two weeks before Christmas.
I'm still not terribly fond of that song about the grandma who got runned over by a reindeer.
But the best part is you don’t have to listen to it if you don’t want to!
Well, if you work in retail, maybe not. They play that shit 24/7.
Of course. I never complained about it. But it's how I learned how to use "selective hearing" for real. It helps with all the other damn carols that get overplayed that time of the year, too. ;) This is actually the first time I ever admitted publicly I don't like that song very much, and why.
I doubt anyone is. It's just not a very good song.
Nothing wrong with admitting it's triggering even if you can brush it off. That's all the definition of the word used to mean until SJWs appropriated it.
By that logic surely getting the email to opt out is jest as triggering
Same here. On Saturday I happened to be out shopping and saw a cute pink cap that said "Dog Mom" on it. I was never blessed with kids, but I have three yappers who got me through losing my husband and keep me laughing every day, so that cap kinda made me feel like I had something to celebrate the next day. Silly, but why not?
Long as they’re treating them equally and doing the same for both I get the idea behind it and don’t mind it. In fact I could see companies having an email preferences page and a list of holidays they market for and you being able to opt out of any particular one you’d like. Not big into Halloween? Hate Valentine’s Day? Opt out.
Same. I still think people shouldn't be so weak so as to not tolerate the mention in an email newsletter.
It's weak not to be able to deal with Mother's day celebration.
That site is pozzed, it went all in with the Burn Loot Murder narrative and also banned all MAGA merchandise.
You know how women get when men are regarded as human.
Jokes aside, looking at the muted colors and the picture, this is probably for people who have a dead father. Would not surprise me if they did the same for mother's day.
And nothing like this for Mother's Day? Clearly sexist.

Their greatest fear is a real man and father! Nothing better in the world than a good dad!
People always think of other possible, genuine reasons this might be a good thing. But at the core of it, it's not to protect people but to politicize things. They would just do it for Mother's Day too to not be so obvious and be accused of a bias, or because billy has two daddies. It's rot, not thoughtfulness, even to the bereaved.
As long as they aren't referring to it as "non-birthing parent day" I'm not too bothered. But once they offer more than two choices in the pull down menu for "what is your gender?" I'm done.
My dad shot himself the day after Thanksgiving. Not sure if I'll ever be able to disassociate the holiday from that unfortunately. Seasonal depression is a hell of a thing. Some people really don't want to be reminded constantly of what they don't have.
