A fusion of Psycho Pass and Minority Report looms ever closer in the U.S.

'Minority Pass' describes our current legal system perfectly.

If you define Minorities as only Blacks and illegal alien Hispanics then yes.

The current system definitely does not favor Asians who are also minorities.

It gives lip service to Asians, which apparently is enough for them. Democrats could send Asians to internment camps (again) and they would still vote for Democrats. That’s how entrenched the “Democrats are the good guys” narrative is in America.

It'd be nice if someone told the Asians that.

Somewhat related since they claim it is about “health” and “curing cancer,” but I think it is time to admit that cancer awareness and accompanying charities are some of the biggest scams of all time. These things are complex, but we haven’t even come close to developing a new way of curing cancer. In the 80+ years since chemotherapy was created, progress has been minimal. Sure, survival rates have improved, but it is still pretty deadly. You can argue that maybe big pharma has been blocking cancer cures, and maybe that could be the case, but where has the billions upon billions accrued for cancer research gone besides lining the pockets of these charity organizations? The worst part is that it is considered taboo to even ask how the money has been spent.

So this is how they will get everyone chipped. Health diagnostic chips that will alert you to your health problems before they're even conciously noticable.

Without one of these, you'll not only suffer more from preventable conditions and die younger, more importantly, you'll be uninsurable. Possibly unemployable.

Was William Gibson truly seeing into the future, or did he just hand the powers that be an instruction manual?

I don't want to get too into personal details, but I've worked with a lab that got into a "disagreement" with Eric Lander. I don't know if anyone else here has interacted more personally with him, but from my view point his work can be of variable quality, his papers deserve more questioning than they ever get, and listening to his talks he comes across as more of what I would call a "Celebrity scientist" who is interested in broad scale topics and big flashy papers/presentations, with not a lot of concern for details or substance.

I can't say I particularly trust the proposal or the man they have to guide it. I suppose that's par for the course with this administration however.
