The problem with all these woke cities is that they don't actually fucking try anything. They treat these diseased bums, drug addicts, helpless crazies, and just general worthless dregs of society who choose to live outside and violently harass people for money (even killing some. Hi, NYC, Karen!) like exotic pets. It only attracts more of them and makes once crime-free areas into toxic cesspools of violence, street shitters, and drug addicts.
Community outreach programs that actually work are defunded in favor of some rich, useless cunt's idea of how she can put a bow on it and make it better, ala San Francisco and Michael Obama.
The only thing the community should be reaching out with is a whip. People used to know how to deal with dregs who could work, but instead leech off the community
There are those who genuinely need help, but don't get it because they are usually not part of the special minority these groups want to give money to. They usually only stay on the street for a short time before getting themselves back off without help because they are hardworkers who hit a massive roadbump. The rest, are either crazy or just worthless pieces of shit.
I always tell these dumbass progressives that normies don't lose their jobs or whatever and say "well I guess I'll pitch a tent under the overpass now." Normal people will move in with their parents, couch surf, rent a hotel room, or worse case, gets public housing assistance. It seems like most of these detached from reality lefties see a bum and think "but for the grace of God go I."
From what I've seen and what I've read, street bums can generally be categorized into one of three camps: 1. drug addicts who do not have their addiction under control, 2. unmedicated mentally ill, 3. ne'er do wells who think that living on the streets is better than integrating into society.
It gets bad because the Homeless tend to leave trash everywhere and some Woke think its not a problem when they advocate "We need to save the planet!" BS don't realize they are polluting the hell out of your area with trash and shit. .
Whats even more insane is that they had voted to legalize these same encampments in 2018, and are now banning them again because it got out of control. Showing that even if it is extremely liberal, it is still Texas so people have some common sense.
Also, with all of the other things around the state that that saw Dems and the Progressives get absolutely curbstomped, I think the idea of "Blue Texas" was just found dead in a ditch. And with Florida now solidly Republican for the foreseeable future, it will make it that much harder for the Dems.
Just to point out, this was a repudiation of the mayor and city council, who actually voted for that. The people voted on a referendum to bring it back. They pissed off enough people that in 2 years, the most California town in Texas went red policy, again.
Ah. I am not in Texas so I had only heard through the grapevine that it had been voted on to allow it recently, and now they are already back tracking. I thought it was a referendum that did it the first go around as well.
So, I'm actually pissed about this subject, but not for the reasons given. It's not hard to figure out the homeless culture and the way it works. It's also fairly easy to take care of once you recognize the culture. The homeless have a network and try to move based on better life. So, the only way there's a problem is if someone is specifically messing up the network, and trying to fix things counter to the culture.
Far worse, there are tons of organizations that help the majority of the people in need. They tend to be religious, and sometimes don't get specific things, but they have a good record of success. Half of the reason why you are seeing these problems is because the city gets rid of the organizations because of the screw ups. Instead of making groups to fill in the missed parts, they scrap the entire thing.
I've seen Dem leaning areas round up homeless and not really say where they were taken. It's especially done when a big Dem thing is happening soon and they don't want the homeless to be a counter to their own ideas. That's why they cleaned up their own streets a lot of the time. It wasn't to keep anyone safe.
So that's the problem, all of the leaders only want the appearance of fixing the problems, but don't actually want to fix them. Then, they tell the homeless to being more people, because it sounds good. The homeless aren't migrating like they usually do, so it becomes a giant quagmire of appearance and crap.
They send them to other cities and states, 'helping' them to migrate. California loves this shit, so does NYC. More of these people showed up in Florida for a while, but community ordinances and local 'beggers' (read: have homes, phones, drugs, food, but no jobs, professional beggers.) are territorial, so they moved on pretty quickly from my area.
I used to feel sorry for the homeless, then I started working in a grocery store and see the way these worthless fucks are treated. They get more in five minutes of bleeding-hearted scum passing by than I get in an hour's hard work. They get food, drinks, alcohol, money, phone cards, gift cards. I just want to kill the people who give this shit to these bums. They are only keeping these assholes coming back, not helping.
EDIT: Then these bleeding-hearted lefties keep saying "Well, if you aren't getting paid enough to earn a living wage/as much as the homeless, maybe the employer is the problem." No, you are the fucking problem. I earn what I have, I work hard, contributing to society. I don't get more because these leftists are some of the greediest fucks, and what little I do earn, makes me ineligible for benefits the bums, whores, and minorities get.
Their idea of a better life and yours are different, I am not disagreeing. They like and want to be homeless. So, the network actually talks about open spots, and treatments. They do not want to have tons of people in the same spot begging for the same scraps. There are a lot of them who want to be a part of the community as a homeless person. I've seen them clean up areas, take care of garbage, and other things to help the area, and in hopes of reward.
What I also know is most of them aren't scared of being homeless. They have been homeless before, know how to do it, and how to do work while homeless.
There are also a lot of people who want to get out of homelessness quickly and will follow the programs given. The problem with places like Seattle is they got rid of the shelters and places to take care of folks, and built large apartment complex areas that only serve a portion of the people in need. As I said before, they get rid of the people doing stuff because of a few misdeeds, and then only have the appearance of helping.
It's really weird to watch, and kind of tragic. The networks we are talking about have been openly talked about in Sherlock Holmes novels. The Baker Street Irregulars do all the things the homeless now do, and yet we have tons of people who don't know how this works. Just talking to them will help you figure this out, and the blinking idiots can't even do that. I mean, this is something they love to talk about on the stupid bus. The entire network, how it works, where they place in it, and how they help their network.
Basically, a lot of the problems are being caused by people who make sure to show off how they are helping, and then don't talk to the guy on da bus.

More reasons we need to reintroduce asylums.
Street shitting should be an automatic floggin.

I think I figured it out.

But I don't want to deal with my problems! That's why I solve all my problems with money!
I don't want to fix anything. I just want to call myself a good person.
The essence of the political left.
The essence of the upper-middle class unmarried eggless white women who are Useful Idiots to be precise.

While true, many of them view "a better life" as lax drug laws, needle exchange programs, food programs, etc.
You don't make people comfortable in poverty. You serve them best by driving them out of it.

Friendly reminder than Ben & Jerry's can suck a dick.
I bet they don't actually fix the problem
