Now how about you do something actually useful like sign an EO banning vaccine passports in Texas.
I am with ya there. 100% Put it on the docket as legislation for the upcoming emergency session (there is almost always one called). An EO is a good start, but getting it codified would be even better in my estimation.
I was actually going to send an email to his office and all my representatives asking for the very same.
Worst it could do is nothing.
Already have. It's a blackhole, but even politicians stare into the abyss sometimes.
Send a physical letter, they pay more attention to those.

I definitely understand feeling that our “representatives” don’t feel like they have to represent us, but rather lord over us and enrich themselves.
However, as a counter to that, one thing the radical left does well is they make themselves heard, disproportionate to their actual numbers. Meanwhile, the moderate masses and the right wing typically just sit on their asses and react to change.
1 million voices is hard to ignore regardless of where it comes from; it’s time for the right wing to make those voices ours. And it starts by making an earnest attempt to work through their channels and contact our reps.
While I'd like to see tons of states push back on this, in the end it's up to us to make sure our friends, family, and community are educated on this issue, and to completely refuse the vaccine and passport.
Since it's not happening yet, I don't see the urgency in issuing a flimsy executive order.
Yes, please.
On the plus side, there's a bill in the Texas Senate (SB1669) that would pretty much make vaccine passports useless. As long as I'm interpreting "public accomodation" correctly. However, it still has to be voted on, pass, pass the house, and get signed. I think it will, but the passport thing might be in full swing by then.
It truly is a race.

Texas Governor Greb Abbott was invited by the Texas Rangers to throw out the First Pitch in their new stadium that is opening and hosting its first regular-season game later today (4/5).
Abbott shows some integrity in turning down the offer, citing MLB's Windex-flavored fuckery as it pertains to Georgia.

Are Republicans finally growing a vestigial spine?
It's possible I guess. I view a great many of them in Washington as card-carrying members of the Uniparty, which is why I have retired the term "RINO". They aren't "Republicans in name only", but rather the Red Wing of the Unitparty putting on a show, particularly at election time.
Some of them at the State level may actually stand upright from time to time. Greg Abbott (aka Grabbit) was horrible for Texas when Uncle Covid first showed up. Recently with his poll numbers tanking and Texans on the small business side really hurting, he relented and is getting back on track. Credit where credit is due; Grabbit has been much better as of late but DeSantis he is not. I thought Noem was going to be ok, but she has morphed into the Surrender Gnome.
At the end of the day, putting one's hope and trust in a politician is a fool's errand, IMO.
Maybe but currently it's just a cluster of cells.
Even if he was Hitler himself, what he did here is good.
Heh I think the point is he's the opposite of Hitler. wrt the JQ
Jumped into comments here just only to see I'd dotwin had any sort of memory. I'm glad though someone did, if it's just the tip of the iceberg reguarding governor abbott.
First DeSantis, now Abbott, and now Georgia.
Governors are finally rebelling against this bullshit. Good.
Don't go falling for it that easy. You're being throw a bone so as to ignore far more outstanding issues such as their allegiance to foreign countries.
I wouldn't call this BTFO-ing MLB, but it does help draw a firm line somewhere.
