Reminder that Sony (the company) is still Japanese. Sony's entertainment division, including gaming and movies, relocated to Silicon Valley which is why they are the way they are.

Holy shit they kicked PlayStation out of Japan?!

What's the chances of Sony corporate pulling it all back from the California cuckery? The way the Japanese culture is that seems almost like something they'd find dishonorable to not be relevant in your home country.

They will conclude "Japan was clearly not a market for the Playstation given these sales figures and therefore our decision to go Full Woke California was the right one, we got out just in time, seems like the moment we went Full Woke California everything about Japan's reception to the Playstation went to hell, so we couldn't have picked a better time."

That is EXACTLY how they think. These people would fall and smash their face on the concrete, then conclude it was a good thing they fell because their face hurts and it would be nice to be lying down for that, so the fall was a good thing.

That is like the studies that prove diversity is profitable. Successful companies see massive revenue growth when they go international. Opening international branches increases diversity because duh. Therefore, diversity is key to revenue.

One more point, Nintendo has always been pretty much the undisputed king of handheld gaming. The PSP and Vita did have some interesting things going for them, but to ever think they could challenge the stranglehold Nintendo has was and is laughable.

Now I'll admit, the PS4 did have some very good games on it (Bloodborne, the newest God of War, Ghost of Tsushima) and it definitely beat out the Xbone, but the Switch is a mobile console with the capability for shared gaming, something that Nintendo has always tried to incorporate, which is a challenge not only to legacy consoles, but phone gaming.

In summary, Sony probably would have still lost in sales to Nintendo, but they did themselves no favors by bowing to woke and censorship mobs, and catering to global sales while neglecting their home turf.

More of this has to do with Japan trending toward handheld gaming more and more over the last 20 years and less to do with wokeism. Ever wonder why the switch is the way it is? Nintendo realized this trend early and calibrated their console accordingly.

The west should follow suit. Though it worries me that Sony still now has a near monopoly on anime in the west and have stated they want to mess with the production of it in Japan. We need to boycott funimation crunchyroll aniplex (I'd add viz media too cause they have said some woke things and saying things like wanting to mess with anime too. ) support other anime companies like sentai or others instead. Or do something else like pirating but don't support Sony instead support the creators in other ways like buying merch . . And find some way to contact and let Japanese creators know we don't support this.

The NPCs don't care, this is a victory for them. Their goal is either to subvert or destroy everything, and destroy is a perfectly acceptable outcome. They all fail upwards or have their trust funds/beta bux/race grift to fall back on.

I want this to be true. I still think it's a bit fucked up that both the next gen consoles are out and aside from enhanced or optimised versions of last gen releases, there are only a handful of actual PS5/XSX native games and very few coming by summer. I feel like they should have actually prepared for these launches with system selling titles and consoles that are actually in stock.
