Hi fwiends,
Your boy needs a new mouse but how can I trust the gaming websites considering I know the truth about GG.
Can you give some recommendations? Are there any sites out there that you can actually believe?

Buy whatever you'd like, but after Logitech came out in support of BLM, I dropped them permanently. I won't support racists or communists. Besides, there are tons of great brands out there to choose from.
From their website as of today:
"We are in, and have been in, a human rights crisis. Logitech stands with and up for the Black community to create positive change." -Bracken Darrell, CEO
Logitech and its brands have made donations to: Equal Justice Initiative, Souther Poverty Law Center, We Love Lake Street and other organizations that are fighting racial inequalities.

Too bad. I've been consistently using their products for about 20 years.
I'm thinking I'll look at Corsair. Their power supply has been great for me, and I just got a headset from them that I love.
Depends on what mouse you want but a website to purchase it from is Newegg.com. These guys are computer wholesalers and I bought all the new parts I needed to build a new PC from them because they're that good. Primarily US based you can buy parts in different regions of the world to drop down the shipping fees.
newegg was bought out by prc investors
I currently have a Steelseries Rival 3 and it works perfectly. I used to have Logitech ones before but after a while they would start double clicking on me.
Logitech used to be great but their quality has gone downhill.
I currently have one but I'll be looking elsewhere when it stops working. For example my middle mouse button regularly starts doing weird things, e.g. sometimes it double clicks, other times it doesn't work at all. It's damn annoying in games or when using a browser.
Yeah that was one of my problems too, with the middle wheel being made of a soft squishy plastic. The one I have now has it made of hard plastic.
I'm using the Microsoft ergo mouse with a squishy wheel which is the main reason I want to get a new one.
No kidding. I've got the K850/M720 set about a year old. It's so damn plastic-y and the spacebar is already getting smooth from my finger. My previous set lasted ten years and while I this one might still function then it already feels crap.
Yes I know I'm sure the OP and most of everyone else is talking about high performance gaming mice or whatever. I was never good enough for the mouse to matter and most of my PC games are city builders and turn based empire building games where I think I'll survive with a basic mouse. I'd spend some good money on a well oiled machine quality one over a piece of plastic crap though.
The "double-click" effect is a sign that the switch in the mouse is worn out. If you're comfortable disassembling the mouse and soldering you may be able to replace the switch with a new switch.
I use the logitech ergonomic trackballs, and they do the same thing after about 3 years. Then I found someone online who posted part numbers for higher quality switches with the same size and just pro-actively replaced them all. Haven't had any issues since, and I like the more solid mouse-click feel the higher quality switches have.
One reason I need a new one is the middle scroll wheel/button doesn't work well, had to remap Witcher 3 and for RDR2 I gotta try hard to clean my gun.
I use a Logitech m570 trackball for daily use
I switched to it because Path of Exile was killing my wrist and couldn't be happier. The thing about logitech their products work great but don't last forever, so expect to replace it every 3ish years.
It works just fine for gaming (my desktop gaming is path of exile, hearthstone and occasional steam tactic/management game like darkest dungeon) but I play my FPS with a controller like a filthy casual.
I love the m570. Whenever I buy a new one I pro-actively replace the switches with higher quality ones that last longer (I use these but I'm sure others will also work). Fixes the "double-click" problem they eventually have due to the switches wearing out.
I know its possible but is that less of an asspain than buying a new one every 3 years?
I was going through enough of them that it became worth it. And I like the stiffer feel of the replacement switches.
found a vid that makes it look fairly straightforward https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd1mBibUm24 and I have one of my old trackballs to practice on
ty for info, still not sure ill do it but a least I have an idea of what to do if I ever get the motivation
I use a trackball for work so I'm very used to it for that, I would think it would be bad for FPS etc.
Just get a Logitech G600 and be done with it. I can't game without all those thumb buttons anymore, it's too good of a feature. It's been my go-to mouse for longer than I can remember now.
I'm using a Razer Basilisk that I bought at a discount and am liking it right now. I don't do competitive gaming so I'm not worried about having a wired mouse.
I used to use the Logitech G602 as I liked the weight of the mouse and it fit my hand quite well, but my last one wore out quite quickly and I've noticed some quality issues with Logitech mice in general the past few years.
r/mousereview should be a good start. Also I can't believe I'm recommending plebbit unironically.
Personally I use a G403 / G703 (the wireless version of the 403) from Logitech.
Just keep in mind that the microswitches powering the click actions in either the buttons or the wheel can be replaced. They're standard parts you can buy off aliexpress or ebay, they cost less than a dollar a piece, and it's not a big deal to replace them if you've ever used a soldering iron before, and even if you haven't, it's definitely still doable if you watch some videos first. On a cordless or cord-replaceable mouse, if you can replace the microswitches every few years when they wear out, and there's no disintegrating plastic on the wheel or elsewhere, one nice mouse you like should last indefinitely.
Logitech G502 Hero, has some of the best reviews out there. I got mine for dirt cheap on a black friday sale over a year ago for like $30.
Sites I would look at would be HardOCP forums.
I currently use a Redragon M901 Perdition mouse, and it's one of the best gaming mice I've ever worked with. It's one of those programmable MMO mice that has 12 buttons on the side in addition to having the usual L/R/Wheel. It also has what I like to call a "double-tap" button that can act as a multiple-click trigger, as well as the ability to switch DPI or program sets on the fly. It also comes with adjustable weights, so you can make it lighter or heavier if you want. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new gaming mouse.
I use a cooler master MM710, cheap light but had to RMA it because something came lose in the mouse causing it to randomly disconnect. Seems like a common issue aswell.
