So I saw that a show I loved as a kid (Night Court) will be getting a sequel. It will center around the daughter of the Judge from the original. I avoid reboots/sequels in the current year like the plague but I do notice that whenever they do a sequel nobody seems to have sons.

Women have to be every character now, which can have funny results. Cyberpunk's corporate dystopia is run by women. Self-awareness isn't feminism's strong suit.
I can't wait for the remake of Inglorious Bastards with a female Hitler and 100% female Nazi Party.
Think we're living in it
Nah, Kamala Harris is just wave one. There's a whole lot worse to come if we don't stop them.
Allow me to post an old screenshot that lacks any kind of introspection whatsoever
I cannot envision any way they can pull the sort of jokes John Larroquette pulled on that show today.
It would be like asking Berkeley Breathed to double down on Charlie Hebdo. (Which he'd probably do, come to think of it.)
Well Larroquette will be in the show but yea they won’t allow those jokes. I’m sure he will be upstaged by a stunning and brave woman.
Well, I don't know if you remember how they handled Fielding's character - it was pretty subtle, I guess, especially for the modern day where beating people over the head with a sledgehammer is de rigeur.
Remember, it turned out that he was from a poor hillbilly family from Louisiana, and he played the accordion. That was his big come-uppance in the original show (especially when we got to see Brent Spiner as his dad.)
I can only imagine what they'd do this time around. His parents would be confederate-flag wavers from alabama or some shit.
Yeah, us older generations, our wanna be middle class parents would send girls to piano lessons, and boys for accordion lessons. I don't know why. But playing the accordion is really geeky, and a big embarrassment for a lot of guys (anyway, that's why Weird Al, and why women in older media just seem to sort of know how to play the piano out of nowhere.)
No one will greenlight anything that doesn't tick the right diversity boxes. This has been the case for years now, and it is only getting worse.
The underlying problem is actually streaming services. Everyone's paying $20 a month to watch The Office for the hundredth time, and the studios are funneling that money to woke producers who create content almost no one watches. We used to watch our old favorites via nightly syndication. Now they charge us for the privilege and give our money directly to radical leftist creators who hate us. None of their unpopular bullshit ever gets checked by the free market, so they're free to continue making it forever.
If you're still paying for Netflix. Hulu, HBO, etc., you're giving money to people who hate you in exchange for woke content no one wants and shows/movies that used to be free. Cut those services, download your favorites, and run a media server locally.
Lets face it that is not going to make a difference to the streaming services. Getting a NAS, configuring it and then download all your movies is not something a casual will ever do.
When they do have a son, it's usually a disappointment. Indiana Jones, John Marston (Red Dead games), Chucky, Agent Cooper's doppelganger/Audrey Horne, Han Solo.
Oh, fuck no. Night Court was awesome in its day, but no way do I want these assholes going anywhere near it when I can still just go watch the original and actually have a good belly-laugh, which is something "comedies" do not do for me any more, because once you've heard one or two toilet and locker room jokes, you've heard 'em all. But that's about the only sort/level of humour the new left will allow (because even retards can understand a fart joke, doncha know) ...for now. But then, a recent simpons hinted even that might be "cancelled" (a farting train rolled through a bowel distress disorder help group, and they called it a "rolling hate crime".)
Interestingly enough, Mac was already an inter-racial relationship - wasn't he married to a Vietnamese he boinked during the war?
