It reads a bit like a silly fanfic, but it definitely could happen.
It's a little worrying that any President has this power, but trying it and failing would be political suicide, and would potentially end in serious sedition charges.
I don't know if Trump would actually dare to cross the Rubicon, but he seems to at least be willing to fight the results as long as he can.
Trump will most likely never formally concede, but that by itself means nothing.
He has the following, and the backing, but the question is if he has the balls to try,and if he could win after trying it.
This is the nuclear option and I hope the launch button doesn't have to be hit
If you had told me that governors would use a minor section of the Public Health Code as it relates to infectious disease control to shutter most of the economy I would have also thought it would be "political suicide". Yet here we are having just re-elected a bunch of governors who did just that.
For whatever reason the old rules don't seem to be applying to 2020.
Yes, the presidency shouldn't have that power, but I don't think he'd really try for that. He'd be better off leading a Civil Disobedience campaign in the US of anti-lockdown, pro-sanctuary governors and states that refuse to comply with the Biden Administration's mandates.
Jim of Jim's Blog has a very log discussion of such things as well.
It's something where if we had a Bolsanaro, Putin, or Duterte in office it'd be a near certainty. The question is whether Trump has the balls to try something like this.
I genuinely believe that his supporters are hardened enough that if he tried it he'd have the support. The only thing that would prevent him from doing so is his lack of will to do it.
I think Trump being a businessman rather than a general who seems to also have been significantly affected by having front-row seats to the aftermath of 9/11 would be a far less brutal or bloodthirsty emperor than anyone else who might want to apply for the position.
That is one of the reasons I think if it's anyone it should be him: because any alternative I can think of would be far worse.
What is it other than dictatorship if you can choose between globalists and globalists. What makes an actual revolution currently not justified, even in theories that allow for a right of revolution, is that peaceful means of regime change have not yet been exhausted.

Trump's enemies made many comments and signals that they will destroy America into a communist hell-hole should they win. It is not hard to find people who are willing to die and kill to make sure that Trump's enemies does not win.
I don't think it really comes down to a matter of will.
You could have the will to do a thing but still decide that it is not the best choice.
There's an argument to be made that, as bad as the democrats are, maintaining his power is simply no important enough to do something that would very likely plunge the country into a bloody civil war.
(Of course you could also make the argument that we're better to get that over with now than accept the slide into a progressive-authoritarian dystopia.)
He could feel that the violence is just not worth it.
I suppose you could say that comes down to a matter of will, but it doesn't feel that way for me.
I have the will to do a lot of things that my better judgement vetoes. A matter of semantics I guess.
If he does it, they brought it on themselves. They called him a tyrant for years, while he was doing nothing tyrannical. They called him a traitor while they worked behind his back to undermine his lawful positions. They called him a threat to democracy while they tried to rig an election.
I didn't want it to come to this, and I think a lot of people feel likewise, but at this point half the country would cheer him on, perhaps rightfully so. I'd certainly love to see the ringleaders try to scurry back into the woodwork, when they realize shit has hit the fan. I think it would be hilarious if, for instance, the Speaker of the House tried to flee the country. Perhaps spite and vengeance isn't the best driving force, and I can't say for certain whether such actions would be extremely beneficial for the country, very damaging, or somewhere in between...but damn would it be satisfying at this point.
That is one upside of all this election mess; I think things that were never meant to see the light of day are finally being exposed. I just hope Trump has the judgment to surround himself with the right people, and the balls to see this through...whether that includes such drastic action or not. As others have said in this thread, this really comes down to Trump, and if he's got the determination to get this done.

I think that he is in a position that he can't back out without getting himself and his family killed. Look at all of the schemes he's ruined and apple carts he upset. It has gotten to the point where there are groups calling for the death of his supporters and associates. You can bet that they'll try to kill Trump and everyone that supported him, regardless if he gives in or not.
The logical choice would be to keep going and see it through the bitter end. We at thedonald.win will have his back 110%.
You all keep acting like Trump is Caesar, when he's effectively Pompey. It was Caesar who was making promises of hand outs, creating wild amounts of debt, rejected the rule of Roman law, over threw the government so he didn't go to jail, and intentionally cause massive political riots and upheaval to maintain power whenever he took it.
What strikes me is would the troops follow their oath or obey the brass in the pentagon? Most of that lot seem to be borderline psychotic levels of TDS right now
one guy claimed he was a cop that would enforce confiscation orders because "muh job" and "iTs dUh LaW
Hope the money is worth his life.
I bet that they will not even payout the pension or life insurance if he gets turned into swiss cheese on the job. They'll probably come up with an excuse, deny the money, and use it to entice more mooks into the meat grinder.

Again, Caesar was openly violating Roman law, using mob violence & intimidation, and colluding with the power establishment. I don't see Trump as anything like that.
Pompey shouldn't have had to lay down his arms because Caesar shouldn't have needed to cross the Rubicon to invade Rome, because he shouldn't have been using mob violence back in 59 BC which was the criminal prosecution he was trying to avoid in the first place!

Most dictators wouldn’t have a majority share on both supporting military force AND armed civilian populace.
I genuinely believe that his supporters are hardened enough that if he tried it he'd have the support. The only thing that would prevent him from doing so is his lack of will to do it.

I also think that, if we had a fair count, Trump really did win the election in what was likely a massive landslide.
My body is ready

Not just groups, but OFFICIALS who have been elected into our offices are calling for his head. It's fucking insane.

Kamalla is.
and she's already on the march.

Not a name I expected to see today.
My bellybutton was not prepared for this.

Trump is Caesar in 59 BC.
Pompey created the Roman Civil War by refusing to lay down his arms as the Senate overwhelmingly demanded.
Again, Caesar was openly violating Roman law, using mob violence & intimidation, and colluding with the power establishment. I don't see Trump as anything like that.
