We don't get to know the details.

There is no nuance to the matter that God will reward them. It's not like they pointed a gun at themselves and pushed the trigger: they tried to do good in a rational way and by the light of their conscience. No one can expect three men to barge in, kill the couple and kidnap a child to traffic. That could happen to any family, foster or not.

No wordly suffering compares to eternal rewards.

It's not a meme attempt at all, I think. It's just a text message decorated with a random pretty image. Very unimaginative.

Ideally, a meaningful choice. You can make 4/10 characters, but there should be a point to it other than a mere general rejection of beauty. Art is about beauty.

Why, I just clicked to see the link you posted and ended up with this gem: https://archive.ph/wqrIO

I also used to read his stuff before being slowly repelled away.

What I mean is that getting a greencard via going through college in the USA wouldn't work unless the foreign student had the money to pay the tuition, thereby reducing the number of who can take advantage of that to only rich kids.

It's not an adaptation. The title is about the only thing in common. Still, it's pretty good.

H1Bs are a solution to a partially made up problem - tech skills shortage.

They just don't want to pay first world salaries. It's as simple as that.

That doesn't really mean much when the foreign students would have to be able to afford USA's college fees. There'd be no student loans for them.

Rich kids would be able to get in the USA legally anyway.

Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency was well written, fun and kept exceeding my expectations. Died after the second season, I think because of accusations against Max Landis.

I don't mind that my consumer habits have changed due to the rot. I waste less money now, I feel more free and I don't miss any of it. There are better things.

DEI incentives really poison all the wells, huh?

I'm a highly skilled worker in a highly technical field. So unlike you I'm actually talking from experience instead of out my ass.

How presumptuous.

I think you're confusing the call center Indians from the IT ones. Nepotism doesn't explain why American companies hire them.

Did Canada vet their immigrant to that extent?

50% increase in groceries in less than 4 years is extremely alarming, bro. That doesn't happen anywhere in the world without it becoming the national point of discussion.
