Being the second thread I've seen for it here, I'll bring some criticism. I don't think elan school is a comic at all. There's barely any images and no panels to speak of. I found myself scrolling sporadically in an attempt to read each chapter/page, because that's the intended pacing of a work that seems to lack distinct guidelines that bind most visual mediums.

It's a shame, because the subject matter is interesting. I can't force myself to read it, though, the direction is just plain amature. Text alterations, spacing, and placement clearly utilized to guide the emotional response of the reader. I'm not a child; I can see through these methods, and instead of feeling engrossed with the narrative or caring about the scenario, I feel distrust at the overabundant manipulation and insulted as if my standards should be low enough to not care.

A plain text version would be better, I think. No special font stuff, no artsy editorialism, just plain text like a book. You could even sell a book - I think there's clearly a demand for the content.

The best reason I can think of to not do this one is if you needed to explain the reasoning of the rule. Rule 4 is intended for a pseudo-legal conflict prevention, whereas rule 5 seems to be a basic rule to prevent ridiculous scenarios where people decide they'd rather use our space for their fap sessions than see us talk (which is why I tend to consider such porn posting to be spam).

I wouldn't be able to support a zero tolerance ban because even I can use a slur to be crass sometimes. Other times I can try to explain the behaviors implied in the slurs. I could compromise on banning "low effort slur usage", because it should be apparent if the person is making a genuine communicative effort, even though the compromise would mean I lose some slack in speech allowance.

I just keep thinking of the movie The Wizard, and how it was effectively a speedrun competition, but it circumvented normal speedrun procedure by denying the elements of knowledge/memorization to all participants. But as entertaining as that would be to a spectator, I can imagine some frustration from the players being thrown into a game that they may hate, and that's after getting all the participants to agree to gather for a mystery game session that will take hours of their time.

Could you explain the appeal of speedrun competition? I struggle to find value in normal speedrunning outside of autism and dedication, neither being qualities that I think are suitable for the kind of competition I'd like to see.
