True but the backlash is worse because it wasnt made known beforehand. That they waited until 6 hours after release gives the impression they were trying to sneak it in because they knew people would be upset if they knew ahead of time. If more people were aware of the shit being snuck into games these days i'm sure there would be an equal shitstorm abut that too.
The difference is you consented to the steam sign in by, wait for it, buying it on steam. The epic games account is being forced on people who bought it on steam without warning, consent, or even being necessary, as EDF 5's online worked just fine without it. Why should some third party company have any sort of control over the games I bought on steam? It would be just as stupid if the epic games store version forced a steam login.
Sure, but they already had a great implementation in EDF 5 so this isnt their first online rodeo. I get that they wanted crossplay but they defintely should have made it optional at least, instead of forcing on everyone who doesnt want crossplay or to even play the game offline.
Earth Defense Force 6 just launched this morning on Steam and already at "Mostly Negative" on steam, due to requiring an Epic Games account. This was not communicated properly until hours AFTER the game came out and people started to complain about it, and it was not mentioned on the steam store page until the store page was modified earlier today. Supposedly it is only for multiplayer but there are people reporting that they cant even play single player without it.
The game already feels like it requires a law degree to deal with the legaleze of card effects interacting with each other when you are playing with people in the same langauge as you. Playing it in a different language on top of that is absurd.
TheQuatering gets alot of flack around here, but he has said for years that people should still have a regular job outside of streaming to keep them grounded because all of these internet famous people get stuck in this weird online bubble and don't live in the real world.
IIRC mrbeast was that awkward kid in high school with no friends because of his obsession with youtube. His only real friend was chris, so i think in some ways maybe he was too close to the problem and didn't know how to call him out. Or maybe he didn't have the balls to call him out like a real friend should have. I honestly can't say for sure. All of these guys were literal nobodies that became super famous overnight and were probably not really ready for the problems that would bring. It's a tale as old as time. Just look what happened to rekeita.
Didnt that show have a random black targerian (you know the white family that only inbreeds)
