Anime has the occasional reboot, but who has time for that?

There is so much new content I can't keep up!

It's like the dog with the vegan pizza box all over again...

Haven't watched it, but isn't the sister one of the most reviled characters in anime?

Wonder how she stacks against Kyubey (from Madoka Magica) and Malty (from Rising of the Shield Hero).

Now it's time for... The Wheel of Morality!

Wheel of Morality, turn, turn, turn.

Tell us the message that we should learn.

And today's message is:

That's why the public service message comes at the end of the episode!

Now you know.

And knowing is half the battle!

Others have given a lot of good suggestions. As I've mentioned before, Fate/Zero is a good fantasy anime. And Sword Art Online is technically Sci-Fi. Have you seen the Gun Gale Online spinoff? I thought that was fun.

But for a series about sci-fi and fantasy crossing over, the "to aru" series must be mentioned.

The main setting is a city of science. They have technology ahead of the rest of the world and many of their people have developed "esper powers". Outside the city are various factions that rely on magic instead.

A Certain Magical Index (Toaru Majutsu no Index): The main branch of the series. First 2 seasons are good. Season 3 has a dramatic drop in quality of writing because they tried to adapt too many books into that season.

A Certain Scientific Railgun (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun): A spinoff that runs parallel to the main branch. Two seasons. Three seasons.

A Certain Scientific Accelerator (Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator): A side story.

Alternate between watching Index and Railgun since they're concurrent. The timing is a bit off, but figuring out how they fit together is half the fun.

Accelerator is the last anime from this series that was released and should probably not be watched until after watching the first two seasons of Index/Railgun.

There also a movie, A Certain Magical Index the Movie: The Miracle of Endymion (Toaru Majutsu no Index Movie: Endymion no Kiseki). It's basically another side story that should be saved for after getting familar with Index/Railgun first.

Kino

Full title: Kino's Journey (english) or Kino no Tabi (japanese)

Both versions are worth watching because the new one is more like a second season than a remake.

interesting how much they valued music in a mecha anime.

AKB0048 takes this to the next level.

Fairly good show with a freedom of expression / fight against tyranny of censorship theme. Mecha aren't the main focus, but they're there.

Trigun pushes a lot of "thou shalt not kill" and "it's never too late to repent" themes.

But Knives was right about spiders and butterflies.

Nah, for the reasons others have stated, but also because I only pay for physical media.

Most older titles are already free on Crunchyroll / Funimation.

Not sure if Sentai still has a paid streaming service. I don't recall them having any of the issues Crunchyroll / Funimation had.

As far as supporting Japanese creators, remember what Yogurt said, "Merchandising! Where the real money from the movie is made!"

The roaming youths will murder. They can’t help it.

Damn, wasted my youth doing my roaming and murdering in games instead of reality.

Lost childhood!

It turns out the fines on Alex Jones aren't enough to fund Ukraine.

I haven't seen what happened after Ye left, but I'm guessing what you described happened because of what Ye did with Tim Pool.

Alex was very obviously walking on eggshells during the time Ye was there because the threat of Ye walking out was real.

Gotta pay hefty licensing fees or wait for the patent to expire (17 years).

That's why a bunch of TCGs started appearing after Wizards of the Coast's patent on Magic expired.

what the actual fuck kind of movie are they making?

The propaganda kind.

Hollywood admitted they're no longer in the entertainment business when they said the live action Cowboy Bebop adaptation wasn't intended to be good.

God promised not to use a flood for world destruction again and the rainbow symbolizes that.

That's why satanists are using the rainbow to taunt Him.
