I think this actually just results in a huge swath of men abandoning and worse actively resenting society. Men who have nothing to live for are an extremely corrosive and volatile force.

I think the big pitfall on the horizon that no one's paying attention to yet is the feedback loop that will effectively destroy record keeping.

Right now you have the baseline internet full of information provided by people. Now you add some AI that parses it all and people use the AI to look stuff up(ChatGPT, etc). People read the hallucinations that said AI produces, are too dumb to know any better and believe it and then proceed to write down those hallucinations as fact for the next round of AI to scrape off the internet. Repeat ad nauseam and now no one can tell what's real vs what's an AI generated hallucination.

This is only going to be made worse by the fact that search engines have been shitting the bed so hard for the last several years.

They're probably just running out the clock and letting demographic trends do the work for them. It'll only take another generation, if that.

A simple physiognomy check is all that's really needed in their case.

The legislative fix is: Go home and apply for citizenship like you normally would have to. I'm so done with foreigners.

Ask yourself: Is that the face of the man who could take or throw a punch?

See the second part of my statement: it's not my concern.

The middle east can go blow itself up and regime change all day. It's not something I need to give a shit about. They've been butchering each other since time immemorial and it will never end. I don't see why I should give a shit about anything that happens in that region. There is only downside to us getting involved.

TL;DR: Some studio apparently spent $660 million to make a game and then several hundred million more to market it and spent north of a billion dollars. That shit ain't sustainable and now everything is on fire.

It's on my list of things to get around to, but I still need to finish a playthrough of Icewind Dale first and KOTOR should probably be in the mix as well at some point.

Here's my current loadout:

AddItemScript - utility for using the console to add items to inventory

DAO modmanager - utility for managing mod installations

Lock Bash - smash chests open instead of bringing the rogue

Dain's Fixes - a whole bunch of combat/meachanics fixes and tweaks. Need to configure the loadout yourself though.

No Helmet Hack - No more dumb hats, unless you want them. Configurable per character.

Qwinn's Fixpack - the other batch of fixes that cover everything not combat related such as quests and dialog.

storage chest - persistent storage in camp so you can engage your inner pack rat.

Character Respec - Adds a raven that lets you respec your character

Dog slot - add the dog as a persistent fifth party member. Does require you to disable it at a certain point in the game towards the end but I don't recall the particulars since it's been years.

Unobtainable item fix - There's a couple items that never drop properly from a few enemies and this fixes that.

Agreed on all counts. The Qunari were way cooler when they were just giant people with purple eyes and strange philosophy and a penchant for conquest.

Morrigan confronting the Grey Wardens in the Korcari Wilds as they try to retrieve the treaties from a chest.

She says something to the effect of "oh you fear barbarians will swoop down upon you."

4k super high quality TVs make movies absolutely unwatchable for me. I want that 24 fps rubbish. It just feels...I dunno, too sterile or something. Maybe it's just some low level psychology thing with just enough frames missing that our imagination is filling in enough of the gaps that it provides a more fulfilling experience similar to how reading the book is always better than watching the movie adaptation. Whatever it is, the super high quality 60 fps video experience just drains my desire to watch a film. I don't understand why, but it ruins it for me.

From my understanding all the subsequent Dragon Age games descended into [Current Year] garbage, but I can vouch for Dragon Age Origins. Get Sten in your party and enjoy.

I also recommend a handful of mods like the extra party slot for your dog and a bunch of bug fixes. Let me know if you want the full list and I'll hook you up.

Shadows of Amn is peak Bioware. Dragon Age is just what the generation after got to sample.

Maybe wait until it's confirmed. I don't think we should be a fucking tabloid.

Insert rule 2 violation here.

I mean really, what else am I supposed to say? These people are insulated against social pressure and the legal systems of the world can't really do shit against them. They're just bad people who have maneuvered themselves into a position where no one can offer them consequences for the evil deeds they do without going outside the law.
